With an ethos centred around progressive music and its surrounding derivatives, the label is a platform which gives up and coming artists a chance to showcase their music alongside established veterans as they carve out their own musical identity.

Underground Soul

The city that saw me rise, Amsterdam. 

Here's the recording of the oh-so-promised  set of a few weeks back – it's rather a melancholic set with a variety of deep and dark sounds that embrace the pain of the Americas, of those who've been pushed out of their lands as governments wipe their holy grounds. Those erasing their footprint from the world, erase them as people. 

For once, after all these centuries, it’s time to look through their eyes. History offers us no chances to completely erase our mistakes. Occasionally, though, we do get a chance to show we learned something.

Welcome back to the Magician On Duty Journey Series!

On this week's editions we welcome @samahaofficial

Far up in the Pacific Northwest, beneath the grey rain clouds, lives a magician by the name of Samaha.

His goal is to tell a story with his DJ mixes, to paint a picture with sounds, and to guide you through a journey with lush melodies, cool breezy ambiances, and hard hitting earthy drums.

We were curious about the intro poem, so he shared his thoughts behind it:

"When I was approached with the idea to be a guest mixer on Magician On Duty, I wanted to make something extra special. This was one of the first podcast/dj series that I was instantly hooked on. I loved how each mix told a story, was magical and deep, and of course, the art was really cool. I wanted mine to stand out but wasn't sure how. It was a full moon here in Seattle and I was listening to a track called Ausencia De Rio con Luna and it hit me... maybe I'll make a mix with the moon in mind... maybe a story involving a magician and the moon....

This got me brainstorming, so I came up with a neat poem idea. I had some help from Ellie McLaurin, a friend here in Seattle. (Literature and English was never my strong suit in school). This became the basis of the mix. I hope you enjoy this tale of the Magician and the Moon."

Several days ago, when we were celebrating the 3rd anniversary of the creation of Rambalkoshe which also coincided with one of our friend’s birthday, when it turned out that @rabihrizk is in Yerevan and is willing to play the set he was supposed to record for us, when we somehow managed to unearth the necessary equipment with the help of our friends, and when we ran out of home-made wodkabrandy within the first 15 minutes and began to just enjoy the day, many of us mentally traveled back to the time when we had no idea there is a basement in the house and all we had was a home audio system. 

Three years is nothing against the never-ending moments and emotions we had in that period, and the people we have met and those who have believed in us throughout all this time. For many of us, these years constituted life in a completely different dimension that merged with our reality from time to time to remind us that life is abundant and life is distant, and that we haven’t come close to imagining that farness. The point is, thank you all for being there for us. Everything is just beginning.

Brand new for 2021, Pure Phangan is a collective of local artists, performers and lovers of the island who create novel interactive experiences and parties with a purpose.. So what better way to introduce our new series of events than with a fresh DJ mix! Part of my mission as musical director of this colourful crew is to bring the real underground sound of Koh Phangan to the world, to that end I will be putting together a show every month on the just launched radio station UMT.radio. Originally from Casablanca, Morocco, Sparky Jeff has musical influences dating back to the origins of American house music of the mid-80s and the electronic rhythms of the 90s.
 
Hese sets are a harmonious mix of melodic house, down tempo that evolves towards afro house, latin house and rise in rhythm towards progressive house and techno house.

He is regularly invited to music festivals in Morocco and in Europe.
 
 
Originaire de Casablanca au Maroc, Sparky Jeff a des influences musicales qui remontent aux origines de la house music américaine du milieu des années 80 et les rythmes électroniques des années 90.
 
Ces sets sont un harmonieux mélange de house mélodique, down tempo qui évoluent vers de l'afro house, latin house et montent en rythme vers de la progressive house et de la techno house.

Il est régulièrement invité à des festivals de musique au Maroc et en Europe.
