這段聲音是我在台灣南投縣仁愛鄉的合歡山上錄到的鳴唱。牠們體型嬌小，但聲音極度嘹亮，牠們喜歡站在冷杉上對著晨光歌詠，是屬於台灣特有亞種的留鳥。我在全世界都錄過各種不同鷦鷯的聲音，但是比較起來還是有些微不同，或許是一種方言吧。

在今年七月十七跟十八號台灣聲景協會舉辦了一個活動，稱為台灣聆聽日-聽見台灣之晨，那我們的活動希望能夠邀請更多的人的能夠在我們共處的這個島嶼當中的共同聆聽、同樣的清晨。大家在不同的角度那麼不同的地方，那麼願意去記錄。一段屬於台灣這片土地當中清晨的旋律，然後經由我們的分享串連融合，就可以變成一首共同的旋律，屬於台灣的旋律。

這次活動也呼應了今年世界聆聽日的主題，那就是不寧靜的地球，我們的地球正在面臨巨大的轉變因為在從去年2020到2021年了，地球正面臨著人類了面臨了Covid-19疫情的嚴峻考驗。人類必須要進行封城，減少更多的經濟性的活動，減少接觸。沒有想到這樣的一個結果卻讓大自然獲得了另外一種喘息的機會。於是我們可以聽見更多窗外蟲鳴、鳥叫的聲音。我們邀請全台灣公民來收錄自己家附近窗外的聲音，居然收到了全台灣自動自發有一百三十筆，來自於台灣各地所記錄到的這個聲音，那這些公民熱情的參與讓我們聽見了原來在同樣一個早晨當中從不同的一個環境當中，我們可以聽到非常多樣有趣的大自然的聲景。我特別把其中一些聲音剪接成一首四分鐘的作品，這是台灣公民們共同創造的聲景作品，展現出台灣之晨的在地旋律。

艾德華·威爾森談台灣的生物多樣性

2016年IUCN所召開的世界保育大會，我特別跑去夏威夷採訪，在記者會上遇見了生物多樣性之父艾德華·威爾森，當時他已經87歲高齡，仍然可以來到現場跟世界所有媒體說明如何擴大更多面積的生物保護區，包括海底與海岸。這段錄音我特別截錄一段我問他有關自然聲音與生物多樣性的關係，我談到我是來自台灣，他也談到台灣生物很豐富，他相信台灣的生物學家一定注意到氣候變遷對於生物多樣性的影響，非常難忘他的溫暖談話。

The singer out of my window is a exotic species(Oriental magpie-robin) in Taipei, Da-an District. He is a new immigrant within 10 years, but already spreading all over here, I believed he is taking the advantage of the singing talent.

媽祖繞境是台灣年度的宗教盛事，擁有了在地文化與歷史的傳統背景，九天八夜為台灣祈福，在聲音的背景上除了可以聽見整體的熱鬧氣息外，在這段聲景上，可聽到進香團隊伍前端，「開路鼓」的演奏，不分晝夜，沿途步行吹奏敲打，通知信徒，進香隊伍已到了。馬頭鑼敲打及哨角隊的吹奏，也各有意義，唯獨一些跟隊花車上，會播放一些流行勁歌熱曲，讓人覺得錯亂，但是也不得不說，這的確很"台灣風"。

The wind conducted this piece of music, but the instrument is the baboo itself, typical nature soundscape in the countryside of Taiwan. 這段聲音我是錄自於苗栗銅鑼,這是很多早期台灣人童年害怕聽見這樣的聲音,總覺得樹林後面隱藏著甚麼樣的怪獸,然而現代的人開始用不同的角度來欣賞這段來自於竹林的旋律,因為竹子本身就是很好的樂器,而風是自由浪漫的指揮家,在它的擺布下,自然樂章渾然天成.

The duet from the Lanyu scops-owl also can hear the sound from  Treron formosae, Paradise Flycatcher,Philippine Cuckoo-Dove 在這段聲景中,你可聽見蘭嶼角鴞公母之間的對唱，同時也可以聽見紅頭綠鳩、黑綬帶鳥，以及長尾鳩等非常熱帶風情的鳥音組曲。

宜蘭南澳的海濱聲景 Listening  to the soundscape of seashore in Nan'ao,Yilan, Taiwan

During the winter and summer,the megaphones of frogs - Rana guentheri and Polypedates braueri are the ones that people always complain about. For some people, there are heavenly music; however, for others, they are noise. When I come to Menghuan Lake, I love to hear the sounds of all kinds of frog.  I have recorded many different kind of frogs in the world. But I know, the symphony of frogs here is awesome, and only exists in Taiwan.
