Le’Andre “Lakes the Great” Davis was born and raised on the streets of the Motor City, Detroit, Michigan. He began performing at the age of 7, his name Lakes the Great felt well suited to him because of the days he found himself sitting at the lake clearing his mind. He also feels his flow “rap” is like that of the lake. He has performed at all size venues from nightclubs to Cobo Hall. Lakes is in the rap game because he has a lot to say and feels like the world needs to open it’s ears. He speaks of his life , trials , and triumphs in his music. You can find him speaking of the grime of the streets and to lighten the mood the fazed dance craze here in the D “Jitting” in his song “Jittin Across the Globe.” The people that have influenced him most in the game are Jada Kiss, Fabulous, Jay Z, Notorious B.I.G., and 2 Pac. He would describe his music as real, it conveys the workings of everyday life. Lakes strives to make good music and to show the world that it can still be done.
