Correspondant present the vinyl sampler for their 3rd label compilation. Following in the success of the previous two entries in the series, this latest edition provides a perfect snapshot of how the relatively young label has matured over three years, with contributions from a range of artists including big names (such as Roman Flügel and Chloe), close Correspondant family (like Man Power and Red Axes), and exciting new rising talent (including Bird of Paradise and Sigward).

With eight tracks, split over two records, Compilation 03 sees curator and label owner, Jennifer Cardini, displaying an even wider musical breadth than the previous two compilation incarnations, but still represents the undefinable yet unmistakable sound which truly marks out Correspondant as unique.

Correspondant Compilation 03 is due out via Correspondant on June 15.

Konvex & the Shadow returns with full force on our imprint AZZUR with a new solo ep produced in honour of his recently newly born baby "Eva"... 
Based in Montpellier, Konvex & the Shadow opens the ep with "Eva", a melodic track which has been made only few days before the birth of his daughter. Composed of sophisticated melodic lines and minimal drums, Konvex has recorded his wife voice which gives a special emotional dimension to this track. 

With Darkside, Konvex focuses on percussive elements and create a perfect indie orientated dancefloor weapon. 

"Sources" closes the ep with a wonderful electronic ballad produced in collaboration with vocalist Fiona Sally Miller.

Deriving from the Italian word 'cubica', which means 'cubique' in English, Italian duo Qubica does not prefer geometrical forms when it comes to their music but an aesthetic that can be found within their music and is more suitable to depict their artistic mind. With their first EP, 'Idoru', that is soon to be released on Engrave Ltd Enrico and Giovanni, how close friends call Qubica, deliver three straight dance floor tracks without musically moving in circles. 'Sonda Lambda', a term and item usually used in the car industry to measure the oxygen content, takes your breath away as soon as the bassline squares, pardon me, meets the memorable chords. Shortly before the release of the track, which is already supported by Ame, Torture the Artist spoke to the duo about their first 'meeting', how everything evolved from there and both's preference for William Gibson's 'Bridge' trilogy. Following their hugely well-received, refreshingly outlandish debut EP for Phantasy, Israeli club outsiders Red Axes return to the label with another three-track delight of leftfield dance entitled ‘Sound Test’.

Debuting on Phantasy in 2018, ‘Sipoor’ by Red Axes was massive. The release received critical acclaim, not to mention heavy support within the club realm from DJs like Call Super, Jennifer Cardini, Ewan Pearson, Fort Romeau, Massimiliano Pagliara, Chloe, and many more.

Highly soughtafter by those who’ve heard Erol Alkan unleash it in recent months, ‘Sound Test’ kickstarts Phantasy Sound’s 2019 - a rolling tool for a dance floor sliding into another dimension, constructed around a dramatic, numeric countdown. A minimal, skeletal build builds (and builds!) throughout to one of the most out-there breakdowns in recent rave-blotted memory, as the Axes slowly but surely rebuild their house to even more outlandish new proportions. Ten, nine, eight, seven...

‘Shabak Shalom’ quickly snatches the record back from outer space and drags it deep into the basement, zoning in on the gritter, strobe-ready sound that defines the duo’s most club-ready work. All of the Axes’ weapons of choice are deployed as unusually as per usual; militant drums, battered electronics, fucked- frequencies, wiry post-punk guitar lines and lovingly drowned traditional instruments blend to create their own special, slightly-menacing interpretation of hi-NRG.

Finally, on the unapologetically sprawling and immediately effective closing number, ‘Kookoo Papa’, Red Axes demonstrate their inherent talent, if proof were ever needed, of conjuring rolling, simmering tension in otherworldly shades. Those who enjoyed the cartoonish motor FX of ‘Teroof’ will be delighted to find themselves found into an even wackier race this time round, hitting on the origins of Chicago jack, acid meltdowns and screeching no-wave.
