I really hate goodbyes. The worst part about moving is that you can’t escape them. These last few weeks have been tough as I’ve had to do the goodbye thing with so many of my closest friends and walking down memory lane with them is always bittersweet. But at the end of it, I’ve gotten over the sadness and I’m left with this calm sense of gratitude. Looking back, I feel so fortunate to have the friends that I do and I hope that we won’t let ourselves become strangers again. I will miss you and I know that our paths will cross again.

I wrote this for my ex before we broke up a few months ago when I left Hong Kong. I wasn’t going to share this one because it’s so bittersweet for me and captures a feeling I no longer feel. But I’ve moved on since then and I’m happy that I had felt such love for her and translated it into music even if it didn’t last. By sharing this with you, I’m learning to let go of my anxiety and fear that prevents me from being vulnerable as a musician. I hope that you'll feel the happiness I felt in that moment and find someone someday who makes you feel the same.
