When the demo of ‘Scorpio Rising’ landed in our office, we knew immediately: this has to be released in the summer! A hook is a hook is a hook. And what Lannakise sang into the mic for LOPEZHOUSE is definitely a big hook with barbs that sticks in your head. A pristine pop house masterpiece from the La Mancha native. Our homie Jonathan Kaspar takes care of primetime in his usual skilful and efficient manner. Our dear people, what was that? This was our first b2b together in front of a big crowd and we couldn’t have wished for a better one. So much power, so much resonance, so much love and so much fun. Wow. I don’t even know when I’ll be able to process all of this. We didn’t prepare anything, we just played with you, with the whole dancefloor, and with your energy we connected and all dove right into it together. It’s such an honor for me to come to Bielefeld, to receive and share so much love and to bring it all into music. Thank you thank you thank you to every soul who was there and gave it all. <3

Closing set after three long days of building, dancing, partying. Some minor rough turns here and there noticed now when listening rested, but it had zero impact on the journey we had 🥹

Closing Recompression 2025 at the Old Morgue

"You Make Me Feel" was the first outtake from Steve Bug's second Poker Flat album "Sensual". Slowly but unmistakebly building up a hypnotic groove with a rolling percussion loop, ice-cold snare and hollering vocal (reminiscent of Gainsbourg's "Bonny and Clyde"), Bug forces you flashing your sharpest dancing routines even before he throws in that distorted, take-no-prisoners, Saunderson-style organ-bassline. Flip over for another version that's served up straightened-out and stripped down yet still manages to come up with a higher percentage of FUNK. Another totally satisfying five star menu for the Poker Flat gourmet.

You Make Me Feel (Version 1)

Still landing from a few weeks away in the Karoo Desert being part of this magical tribe of Pangea. This year had the privilege to perform at Panthalassa, an amazing new stage design built by the Red Telephone Kollektiv. Panthalassa was the name of the ocean in the times that Pangea was the supercontinent - and with this years theme being ‘Whispers of the Deep’ I wanted to channel a set that journeys deep into the depths of the waters of our subconscious. Incorporating live biofeedback from water into my synths was an exciting new challenge - navigated some technical difficulties but ended up getting some nice sounds from it.

This soundscape was inspired by the past few months traveling through Europe - being exposed to music at festivals like Waking Life and Boom Festival’s Gardens Stage.

I wanted to bring that essence home - the feeling of unity, expansion, and surrender that those spaces evoked for me and translate it through my own story. The result was a faster, more hypnotic live journey that pushed me to explore new territory while still holding onto the emotional threads that I aim to incorporate into my sound.

The set featured some new tracks with artists who’ve deeply inspired me - Arutani, Jedidiah, Status Zero and Aaron Zeederberg - so grateful to collaborate with them.

The aim was to curate something both intimate and infinite - a reminder of how these shared creations can open portals beyond language.
