The basic idea of this track is to provide music accompaniment to Tristan's recoding of Melbourne (AU) cityscape.

Um Continuum is a creative assembly of Jacek Tuschewski, Simon Bowley, Pieter Bourke, Ross Healy, Vladimir Tittl, Tristan Upton and Phil Pomeroy.
Meeting annually to exchange ideas and conduct audio experimentations. Accompanied by good food, good time and open mind.
Um sessions are recorded live, most of the time to multiple mediums via different equipment . Normally we end up with a few hours of multitracks recordings on tape, or hi-def digital recording (DSD). Usually the sessions are mixed at a later stage or another session but sometimes we mix and master as we go along. Um Continuum is mostly for the personal enjoyment or experimentation of the members, normally we do not make any of the work public.

As nothing from nothing, pointlessness weaves roads through compassion and understanding. Roads like dried up rivers once plentiful with vigour and meaning now empty of life, only filled with history. The beauty, the feelings, the palaces of joy, decrapped and uncared for.

But all this is nothing for nothing, pointless and without meaning. Waiting to be forgotten, waiting to become a stain, a bad memory, a fruitless dream, a drugged stupor, a road to nowhere, a roar of a dead beast.

Or maybe there is a point to this funeral wreath of words, of thoughts, of feelings, of beautiful dead flowers; A redemption, a stepping stone, a fight for survival, a dance with an ideal, a flight to a disaster, a directionless stampede. Or perhaps an education; a PhD in ignorance, an uncooked feast, an attempt to triumph, a run for gold, a misguidance of the heart to be cherished and used as an example. Possibly this whole thing was a jump over a gigantic disaster that could not be averted any other way. A temporary marriage of souls to avoid impending doom.

There probably is no end to the possibilities or improbabilities of reasons or logic to sum up this tally with an endless queue of waiters awaiting gratuity for orders they never served.

But please be reassured that life gallops on; This brainless golden stallion destroys anything with the need to birth more and more of itself into this world.

There was this notion in my mind; will someone love me with all my faults, all my mistakes so we can be disjointed together?
I was feeling vulnerable, it made me angry, angry at myself. Sometimes I forget to remember how wonderful my life is.  Still somehow on that day happiness showed it's blemishes.

Today I went to the hospital again, to visit Heidi and Karl (aunt and uncle) they are very old nearly a hundred years old. It was sad to see them so sick, fragile and lost. But still there was this light in their eyes that was flickering on and off in their despair.

It was hard and sad to make and get this multi-instruments/multilayers patches performance ready. But I feel better for being able to reflect and in a way capture this moment. Karl died two days after that visit... The last words I said to Karl were: You look good, he said: you a liar.

I think this piece was more fun to play then to listen to, still I feel it gets the mood across beautifully.
