Born to parents of African-American and Puerto Rican heritage, Lamar’s story began with hard times in his home city of Rochester New York, where he discovered his passion to inspire people through music.  Lamar was the oldest of four siblings growing up in an impoverished community.  At an early age, music became his escape from stressful and challenging circumstances.  He grew up listening to classic R&B, Hip Hop and Latin rhythms.  Lamar progressed from singing songs of inspiration to his younger siblings to performing at local talent shows and concerts.  By age 15, he learned to play piano and began writing songs for a popular R&B group.  
Four years ago he choose to take a leap of faith towards his dreams and hasn’t looked back since. He packed up his belongings and drove to Atlanta, with only 63 dollars in his pocket.  Lamar earned an honest living working a number of hourly waged jobs, but spent the majority of his time in the studio honing his skills, becoming seasoned in the art of making music. 

Lamar Starzz is an independent artist managed by the executive team of The Collective Group Inc.(CGI), CGI is an investor-managed company specializing in the management of asset portfolios in the entertainment industry.
