Just a short little jingle I made for a game project of mine that eventually died... Also, this is one of my first tunes that actually sounded pretty good.

Wingame Jingle

I was originally going to use this tune for a Youtube series that I was going to make called 'Lameguy Reviews' but it never came into fruition... At all.

The Lameguy is Coming

This started out as a result of fiddling around with chords. After many revisions I've put into it over time, it became this tune which is probably the best tune I've made so far as it is pretty upbeat and catchy.

The title is just some random thing I came up with probably because this tune kinda sounds like a silly little love song where a lonely yet pessimistic man is being loved by his own guardian angel... Random isn't it?

Loved by an Angel

This is just my own little rendition of the Cave Story theme using my old OPL3 compatible sound card. I only translated roughly 50% of the original tune as I've spent a ridiculous amount of time working on this and I don't want to spend that much time on something that no one likes.

Cave Story (unfinished OPL3 rendition)

While everyone plays around with FL Studio or similar sample-based music production applications, I sit here fiddling with OPL3 registers trying to make something that sounds interesting despite the limitations of the chip without using typical chiptune crap such as arpeggio which I'm not exactly a fan of using. Instead, I'm opting for melody style than the typical chiptune affair that a ton of people go with and that I'm more interested in producing short yet catchy looping tunes suitable for video games since its much easier to deal with on the music hardware I use.

Since the OPL3 has somewhat limited stereo only capable of outputting center, hard left and hard right for each channel, Its pretty tricky to achieve interesting stereo effects on it. After some fiddling with custom instruments and panning settings, I was able to achieve a pseudo-surround effect going on with the main melody in this one which works best with decent enough stereo headphones. I've also experimented with some new melody styles in this one which are unheard of in my previous tunes. 

In my opinion, this tune is a pretty big improvement compared to my previous ones. Also, ignore the metadata embedded with the music files for now since they're placeholders for something in the future. In case you're wondering, they reference lumdrop's Chlorofields web-series on DeviantArt and that this is a fan-tune I made for a possible fan-game project based around his web-series soon.

Mysterious Caves

I've had this little Adlib conversion sitting in my computer for a long while and I don't exactly remember why I didn't upload it by the time I finished. Maybe I just simply forgot about uploading this tune.

Anyway, this is pretty much an Adlib/OPL3 conversion of the Mimiga Village theme from the game Cave Story done on Adlib Tracker 2. I actually did this conversion first before I made the incomplete Cave Story title theme which I released before this one.

Mimiga Village (Adlib/OPL3 Cover)

First track I've managed to complete using MIDI and my Casio CZ-5000 back in the end of 2019, but haven't got around to uploading it until now. This tune is made to sound like a dodgy knockoff of High_Treason's Impending Showdown, which this track is inspired by.

Being an early track where I was still getting the hang of working with MIDI and the CZ-5000, its quite simplistic and most of the noises heard are factory presets as it came with the synth, except the small backing near the end of the track which is a custom preset I made. All noises except the percussion sounds are from the CZ-5000, the percussion comes from the XGlite wavetable provided by the Yamaha YMF724 soundcard of my makeshift Pentium III 'DAW' running Windows 98SE, which is used for both sequencing and recording. The only issue with the YMF724's XGlite wavetable is it often exhibits crackling, so any crackle you hear in this tune comes from that wavetable and not the recordings from the CZ-5000... I'm considering getting a MIDI module at some point to address this issue in my future tunes.

Lamelote's Showdown (CZ-5000 + XGlite)

The title theme for a joke but mildly ambitious MS-DOS game project of the same ridiculous name that I'm working on. Basically an attempt to bring the later PC-9821 Touhou games but for IBM compatible PC/AT MS-DOS machines which are prolific in the west, as a parody and love letter to the games its inspired by whilst poking fun of most commonly used magical girl cliches, only with mostly western character designs... I like how this theme ended up having a mild 80s Anime theme vibe to it, or that's what I think it has, as that's exactly what I wanted to aim for with this project's soundtrack.

This is mostly a composition test using my CZ-5000, as the final revision of this theme which is what will be used in the project is going to be converted for OPL3 once my music engine is fully operational, in which it may receive further elaboration for OPL3. MIDI and piano roll interfaces have spoiled me from going back to Adlib Tracker II, not to mention trying to make 4op sounds on it is quite clunky.

I don't really do music much as I'm more of a programmer and art person than a musician. Still, I do try to make my own compositions and covers from time to time albeit rarely.
