You and I are almost the same age. I have moved a lot, sometimes just because I had never lived there. But it's getting harder to pack up and go and my husband is older me I had to come to terms with where I ended up and make myself love it.

80s electronic? Andrew Shields, who posted music under the name DNA Codex,  is a visual artist, spiritual ponderer and music creator. I came across his musical style on mp3u and we've  created a few pieces of music and message collaborations. Sun on Stones is an example of the way we combined ideas about the significance of ancient stones, from Stonehenge to Easter Island to Golbeklitepe. What does it mean to us as we soar into space and reach for the very stars that the ancients worshiped? You'll find no answers here, only exploration.  It is fun to dream of possibilities, and entertain mystical and spiritual significance of the ancients.

At a time when violence and war is threatening the very existence Ukraine, there is a need to find hope and grasp dreams of transcendence.

"Inside of you" Acoustic

Hey…. Thanks for dropping by. It’s Spring here, and you’d figure I’d be in a better mood. Ha. I just came inside from a little walk as the wind kept getting stronger, with a new front blowing in. So this is a dark song for dark times. I played the acoustic parts on a tiny guitar-like instrument called a Puerto Rican Cuatro. An old friend got it as a gift, and then gave it to me. Since I play it, I am called a Cuatrista in certain circles. The slide parts of the song didn’t come out as well as I thought they would, so I played the recorder instead… c'est la vie. Hopefully this summer, I will sit down with the recorder and figure out the notes and scale structures b/c I just wing it now, making stuff up as I go. I hope you don’t mind. (Some do) I am just having fun, and laugh when my old fingers actually cover the finger holes, so I don’t sound like a frantic goose running from the axe. OK, that was pretty dark. Especially sad for the goose. My chores now in the garden entail digging up grass infested flowerbeds and moving large garden rocks around. Also preparing the vegetable garden for planting… That entails picking out small rocks, (there’s a lot of them and I filled in some pot holes in the road with them.), and digging up and transplanting self-seeded volunteers such as violas, feverfew, mother’s wort, valerian, mint, garlic, small rhubarbs, some stray lettuce seedlings, and parsley and replanting them elsewhere. I let most of those plants go to seed, so I can collect seed in the fall, but the birds often get there first and spread some seeds around. Then I prepare the beds for planting in a few weeks or so depending on the weather. I also have check and put up some more rabbit fence, which the rabbits laugh at and sneak in anyway. Clavi & Tele Go To Town

Hey everyone, I apologize for the false start on this one. We wanted to get it just right, though, and neither one of us was happy about the volume of the last one. This cover of the classic Led Zeppelin song represents the first of hopefully many collaborations between me and my friend Ken Karasek, also known as K2 and the Three and K2 and the Four. He is an incredible drummer, a great musician, and a certified wizard as a producer and editor on the board. I was ready to abandon this project about 3/4 the way through it because of unknown technical problems on my end. However, he encouraged me to keep at it. I solved my problem and am very grateful to him for not letting me give up. He also magically cleaned up my vocals, which were all over the place, and made it sound like I hit all my cues. We hope you enjoy this one!

In fact it's 2 scenes from Kurosawa's movie that I merged. In the first, the inhabitants of the slum play cards while singing a refrain. In the second, the same decide to spend a night of drinking to forget the recent worries. Not that the song needed an instrumental support, it was rather an opportunity to review this pretty charivari inspired by Nô theater.

En fait il s'agit de 2 scènes du film de Kurosawa que j'ai fusionné. Dans la première les habitants du taudis jouent aux cartes en entonnant une ritournelle. Dans la deuxième, les mêmes décident de passer une nuit de beuverie pour oublier les tracas récents. Non pas que la chanson avait besoin d'un support instrumental, c'était plutôt une occasion de revoir ce joli charivari inspiré du théâtre Nô.
