Great summer tune, fun and reflective especially if one has done some "renegading".  Love the story about Alfred.  The renegade cosmic ants can stop with the magnifying glass anytime now. It's been a hot August so far here with only a brief reprieve last weekend.  Always lovely to hear (and read) your music and musings.

Thank you've labelled it as a banjo ditty. God knows what I'd have called the instrument otherwise. A fun piece. The banjo skips, the voice skips along. Nicely done.

Two years ago me and my son went to the beautiful city of Lisbon. I do hope I get to go there soon again and enjoy the lovely atmosphere, people, music, food, narrow streets and beautiful buildings.

Yesterday I started my small tribute to the lovely city, I finished it today and hope you will enjoy the listen.

Well here we go…. A banjo ditty… too hot here for much else. Seems scientists have discovered a humongous colony of space ants holding up a huge magnifying glass over the Earth. As for me, I’ve finally acclimated myself to the relentless heat. I learned this decades ago from an old man from Africa, who was brewing tea on a hundred degree day. I asked him why. (Alfred, what the $#%^ are you doing?) He told me in his super deep baritone voice: You have to fight the heat with heat. I was skeptical as I had been living in an air-conditioned nightmare up to this point. After having tea, we walked out into the heat, and I showed him how to hunt for wild raspberries. He was so gracious that I took him into the American ‘jungles’ to forage. So all this brings us back to this ditty. Hope you like it. Thanks for dropping by, Mark
