Sleep

Recently I lost a friend far too soon. She lost herself in despair and is no longer in this world. This piece is a contemplation on loss of loved ones, encompassing grief with an outlook on life and death. Even in her time of darkness, I shall think of her as light.

Loss

Consider the ebb and flow of the tide. When waves come to strike the shore, they crest and fall, creating sound. Your breath follows the same pattern, absorbing the universe with each inhalation. The energy of the sun, the moon, and everything around us, we can access and experience it for ourselves.

There's this ancient Chinese belief that every person is connected to everyone they will ever meet, anyone that will ever be important to them, by invisible red threads. The belief says that the threads may stretch or tangle, but they will never break. 
This 'thread' that binds us all together, is so important. We might be individual different but we are still human.

There's a point in the night when everyone has gone to bed and yet, the word continues moving. A piece of inspiring poetry from Erin Hanson resonates with this piece, which is "if you go outside at night when the world has gone to sleep, you can hear the planet sigh, under the secrets it can't keep." This piece is all about the feeling of constant movement. Constantly running, thinking, feeling. It never stops and it most likely never will. Even in the dark of night, there is no rest.

Life's events come in waves. Sometimes the water pools and swashes around your feet as you look into the distance. Other times, it throws you over and swallows you whole. But eventually, even if it seems like an eternity. You will float to the surface, no matter how many waves come in.

Tsunami

Lamorran Trevenna is a Cornish musical score composer, specialising in classical piano - though she is also talented with: bass guitar, acoustic guitar, mandolin, and the African djembe. Believing that music is the ultimate form of expressing emotion, Trevenna has found herself inspired by the works of Ludovico Einaudi, and since the age of eleven, has found escape within his composition’s unique way of portraying nature. Her ultimate goal is to convey a colourful, authentic spectrum of emotion, as dictated by an ever-changing world.

Additionally, Trevenna is keen in the fields of photography and painting, capturing her surroundings in a unique, yet experienced way, and she is positively affected by synaesthesia, allowing her to effectively communicate her perspective. In 2019, Lamorran joined the NOT ENOUGH KNIFE team, as a result of her vast knowledge of multi-instrumentation, and has since boasted a key involvement with almost every creative project. Moreover, as a graduate from both the University of Plymouth and the Camborne School of Mines, Trevenna’s core time is spent working as a professional Geologist and Mineralogist.
