@zeistmusic delivers a four-track EP on the Understated @ Nite label, which concentrates on the dark, techno, melodic, and progressive sounds emerging from LA's thriving underground dance music scene. Understated is eager to present the new ‘Drip’ EP as some of the first pieces of music Alex Slater created under his ZEIST alias, and these special tracks started his whole ZEIST project. Drip is a melodic tune with captivating arps and a pumping bassline that will move any dance floor. Tilt is a high-energy track that can mix well with other sounds ranging from driving techno to melodic house. In Addition focuses on stacking different sounds, especially arps. XYZ was inspired by some of the early creations from XXXY and resonates with similar energy.

Nite Drive / 002: ZEIST features an exciting mix full of unreleased music. ZEIST curated an all-original mix which includes the four tracks released on Understated @ Nite last week as the ‘Drip’ EP. ZEIST’s signature sound is melodic but energetic, with captivating arps and pumping basslines that come together to create a mix perfect for any time of the day. Enjoy!

About ZEIST:
When it comes to projects, Alex Slater is not afraid of experimenting. His entire career has been about trying new things. Zeist is the latest project this multi-disciplined creator has undertaken. Bringing years of visual design experience together with an immersive musical production journey, Alex has explored various workflows and sonic characteristics that constantly provide new and exciting results. With Zeist, his current focus has been on blending intricate drum layers with subtle harmonic soundscapes that are driven by an evolving progression of melodic instruments. This fuels visual designs that Alex's crafts that accompany each release to give them a truly unique story. Under Alex’s other moniker, MR PUZL, he founded the Los Angeles Music Project, an artist collective, blog, and event series that over the years has cemented itself within the LA scene as a household name for bringing underground acts and showcasing new releases on a regular basis. To round out his projects to date, Alex also curates music for his own imprint PUZL Records which has seen several Beatport and Traxsource charting releases as well as features on some Spotify's most prominent internally curated playlists.

The Vanishing Point

TVP 710 (Live from The Grand Boston)

It has been great watching the underground techno scene here in LA flourish and 6AM group and their partners have played a big part of that. I have enjoyed going to their events and have always wanted to have the opportunity to play one of their shows.  So I put together a mix to try to earn a spot in the upcoming Re/Form Spring Festival here in Los Angeles, April 2nd at Catch One. 

Headliners include DJ Deeon, Sara Landry, Brennan Grey  and many others with side rooms hosted by Under|stated & BL_K Noise.

Fresh off the announcement of this years lineup for Desert Hearts (which looks fantastic by the way) we have one of their longtime residents and recording artists Lubelski joining us in the studio this week for the mix. In addition he has recently had a couple of smash releases with Lapsus Music along with his buddy Rybo further cementing his foot hold in the tech house world that is exploding at the moment.
