LAMP Releases 2015

Atlas Boda delivers a heart pounding 4 mins of gritty bass lines synths and thumping drum patterns with 'Bandwagon' leaving the feint of heart to swiftly reconsider their aspirations getting behind the decks.

Atlas Boda joins the LAMP roster as our first international artist hailing form Liverpool in the United Kingdom. The 22 year old producer has already established himself as a rising talent releasing 'Throne' and 'Room 205' two dance floor hits uniquely different yet an underlying sound through the bass lines has the producer mark. Dark is the color in which Atlas Boda paints his sound. His inspirations are drawn from the low end sounds of traditional UK Drum and Bass to the uptempo grittiness of dubstep. After experimenting with a variety of genres, Atlas Boda has landed neatly in a realm where deep house is dimly lit and all creatures of the night are welcome to lend an ear.

Getting a set started takes a certain type of track and “On & On” by @imsleepycat most certainly brings that “jump off” element to the table. Big thunderous bass lines build into a combination of tight percussion stabs and vocal loops that drop in to a funky groove that epitomizes a deep house track.

On his first LAMP release, Feelings, Portland-based artist LEO ISLO focuses his efforts into a chillwave-laden house track saturated with warm pianos, pulsing baselines, and washy guitars. His wide and airy vocals are ever present, crooning introspectively about the isolation and vices of distant love before hitting us with a catchy hook. 

LEO ISLO is the newest member to join the LAMP roster, bringing with him a diverse catalogue of sounds spanning the genres of Lo-Fi Pop, chillwave, house, and indie-rock. His first EP, Modern Fiction, was released in 2014 and standout songs like Body Speak and Your Bones grabbed our attention early on, while also receiving nods from other contemporary electronic aficionados. He draws inspiration from artists like Jai Paul, Neon Indian, Toro Y Moi, Caribou, Washed Out, and Grimes.

LEO ISLO returns to LAMP following his debut song 'Feelings' with a soulful, uptempo release in 'Higher Living'.

The track opens with an array of floating synths, pitch bending chords and echoing piano stabs that create an introspective environment before being cut by a deep, gritty bassline. A dampened kick and house-infused percussion elements accentuate the songs main groove, building and layering elements into a hazy cloud before releasing the production back into dance territory.

Islo’s signatures vocals are airy and soothing, carefully guiding you through each chorus and generating a hypnotic harmony with the core melody. 'Higher Living' measures up to its name with lyrics focused on vice-laden escapism and a careless desire to live inside a dangerous fantasy.

Coming off of a week of free music under the Champagne EP, Jamie Prado debuts on LAMP with a fresh drop in the form of 'What It Feels Like'. The track opens with a sultry piano solo that is gradually blended together with a series of smokey sax riffs, soft hi-hats and claps. Panning vocals filter into the foreground as a subtle bass line steadily builds into a seductive groove. This sensual house roller reminds us of a blend between early Cafe Del Mar compilations and the jazz sampling proficiency of Nightmares on Wax.

Tontario X Leo Islo - Coexist

LAMP member Leo Islo joins forces with Tontario on an emotionally charged journey in 'Coexist'. The subtle crackle of a vinyl can be heard as Islo's soothing lyrics echo through the shrouds of a hazy, cavernous abyss. A soft piano chord calmly progresses resting underneath a thin layer of warm, ethereal synths that slowly crescendo into a collective auditory atmosphere. Soft shakers melt together with loose claps and other percussive layers to create an aqueous soundscape. The track looks to leave the listener with a renewed sense of clarity, unity and hopeful outlook on the world that is recurrently divisive.

Tontario's grasp for sewing the threads of talented vocal artists with delicate melodic compositions is acutely demonstrated in this latest collaboration with Leo Islo. The Finnish producer has clearly made his mark as well as a lasting impression on his audience that will resonate for some time to come.
