LAMPUKA 004 is the stunning new work from cosmic analog noodleist Asan. Out in spring - here are some snippets of the forthcoming release.

Asan has been making music for some time. He is geographically the closest artist to Lampuka Records HQ, yet LAMP004 has taken us the longest to complete thus far. We had hoped this to be Asan’s debut release but we were pipped to the post whilst he was on his travels. Gladly though we have what we think is a superfluous release...and well worth the wait. No remixes here, just four solid bangers.

Asan is an analog junky and when not dancing in circles with druids he can be found locked in darkened rooms with daisy chained analog circuits “looping the mother of all loops” in what sometimes seem like never ending sessions.

The LAMP004 EP is a culmination of such sessions which have taken the artist to Berlin, Amsterdam and back to London over the space of a year with his drum machine and MPC in tow. His unique analog noodleings are something to behold.

‘Call Girl Machine’ A1
An upbeat ditty with more synth lines and stabs than you can shake a light sabre at. Featuring a vocal monologue about an artist who treats his hardware like his women. How apt…

‘Search for quiet’ A2
Don’t let the lovely harmonies fool you – this beat is hard and infectious. Hats drift in and out of time and around in the atmosphere. It’s beautiful and angry at the same time.

‘Onto Something’ B1
Sounding like a train hurtling out of detroit and stomping all over everything, this is something of a minor chord phenomenon. Huge claps and snares chug you into the distance.

‘Ferrari Red Rasta’ 
Left until last for those that dare to tread this far. If you were not near the edge before, you are now. Not for the faint hearted.

Garben Eden describes himself as a 'dancefloor inspired electronic musician'. No surprise then that his debut on Lampuka explores this environment but on both the lighter and darker side of the 4:4 camp. Tracks are brimming with what are often experimental sounds, yet solid grooves and production techniques. 

GE has definitely defined his own recognisable quality and his live sets are keeping the toes tapping in his home city of Düsseldorf, but with recent releases on Anton Zap's Ethereal Sound and US imprint Ectasy Records alongside Vakula, Garben Eden is clearly crossing some musical borders.

The A1 track 'Romantic Archive' treats the listener to a bouncy keyed riff, memorable chords and delicately placed vocal snippets. Chugging things down on the remix is Tusk of Tusk Wax fame who gives the track a cosmic element and down tempo groove, making subtle gaps in the journey to tip his cap towards the original track.

'Komm' on the B side is a chord and strings affair infused with a playful baroque style analog bass line. 'Night Poser' drags us into the wee hours whether we liked it or not with trippy tremelos and triplets - further testament to the Garben Eden portfolio. Enjoy.

Promising new imprint Lampuka Records returns with their second release, an excellent deep techno four tracker from Swedish producer Pistol Pete, featuring a remix from label head Raimo.

The label's inaugural release features original tracks from head honcho Raimo and up and coming producer Tomas Rubeck, who has a growing number of releases under his belt. Lovingly hand stamped and limited to 375 physical copies, this release also features a spellbinding remix from Edinburgh’s finest deep house confectioner Gavin Sutherland aka Fudge Fingas - known for his sublime work on Prime Numbers and the uber collectible Firecracker imprint.
