The reason for the name Tapedeck Tapestry, is very much self explanatory and metaphoric. I am ever inspired by Dilla's experimental methods which often attempted by some, turn out to be quite DIY-ish. I was inspired by time consuming methods I used as a youngster to create beats using cut, copy, rewind, sample techniques. This is my self patented 'Mounth' style beat, using only the percussive sounds of my mouth and simple synth chords.

Bobby Caldwell created one of the most slept on Soul Classics of all-time, in my opinion of course (and of others APPARENTLY). Sat at home and just fooled around with some basic drums and chopped up this fabulous sample, wanted to give it that 'STEPPIN' feel.
