UK duo, Trilucid have been rising stars on Proton Music with their sparkling original work. Now revisiting "A Moment" from their February 2023 EP, a pair of new remixes come from Greek and Argentinean talents.

An artist with a long and impressive career, Ioannis Paschalis has been a consistent diner at underground music's top table for over a decade. A triple century of credits dating back 15 years are testament to the Greek artist's longevity within an ever-evolving industry as are releases signed to such esteemed imprints as All Day I Dream, Tale & Tone and TRYBESof. Now making his Proton Music, DSF delivers an intelligent and powerful reworking. Using an intricate rhythmic foundation as a vehicle to display his considerable talents, the Greek producer uses a key melodic theme of "A Moment", appearing at the breakdown in the original, and transforming it into a central pillar of his interpretation. Driving forward with pace, the shimmering and arpeggiated motif filters in and out of sonic range with typical dancefloor knowhow, pausing for breath at the breakdown and building easily into the third movement courtesy of snare roll crescendo. Hitting its stride once more in the final stages, the smooth melodic undulations take hold with an emotive piano sequence adding further club-friendly vibes to proceedings.

Martina Mozzoni and Matías Villafañe have become increasingly prominent figures within the underground dance scene. Under their Alto Astral moniker, the pair began their production journey in mid-2021 with original music on Balkan Connection, Movement Recordings and 3rd Avenue. With their "groovy and emotional tunes, gathering original vocals and analog instruments", their unique sound has won plaudits from all corners. After a remix of Juan Deminicis' "Rebellion" and Petar Dundov's "Day Unseen" for Particles in late-2021 and 2022, a reworking of Michael A's "Fantasy" in early 2023 marked a Proton Music debut. "Heartbeat Collective" then provided an immaculately curated collection of original tracks and remixes in July 2024. Now returning, the Alto Astral "Summer Remix" opens with percussive verve and pitched effects while a pulsating wave of melodic layers converge, intelligently revealing the lead motif from "A Moment". Cadenced stabs add to the club-friendly character in the second half to devastating effect. A second remix bristles with rhythmic poise in the early stages before subtle melodic flourishes come to the fore alongside fizzing percussive energy. Refrains from the original make their presence felt before trademark vocal refrains from Martina are layered beautifully together at the breakdown, rising to a wonderful zenith. Dropping back into the dynamic rhythmic pattern in the second half, the Alto Astral remixes are a triumph of innovation and craftsmanship.

Though remixes from Alto Astral and DSF, Trilucid celebrate once more with "A Moment" in the spotlight.

As a DJ, he has played major stages such as Coachella, Tomorrowland, and Printworks, and is a go-to for selectors like Lee Burridge, Bedouin, and radio hosts across BBC Radio 1, Kiss FM, and Ibiza Global Radio.

Here he works with Voice Of Babylon, a new project from Denis Reshetnikov. This experienced DJ and producer now dives deep into rich melodic worlds and has works lined up for Anjunadeep and Bomond.

Say the pair of the collaboration, "We've been friends for a long time and always wanted to do something diﬀerent from our usual organic sound. So we decided to push the envelope and create a beautiful, melodic, and danceable release that reflects our soul and showcases our vision of modern music."

The wonderful 'Bomond' kicks oﬀ with breezy synths and soft melodic sequences that bubble high in the sky above a slinky groove and textured bassline. Angelic vocal coos complete this most blissful escape.

The equally tender and heartfelt 'Hymn Of The Fern' marries lofty pads with luminous synths that warm the soul and arouse the senses with their tactile textures as the rich beats roll on and keep you hypnotised.

Last but not least is 'Magellan', another meticulous sound with wafty drums and pads that are graceful and elegant as they lift you oﬀ your feet and up amongst the most gorgeous melodies. All three cuts are the antidote to busy minds and stressful day-to-day life.
