Have you ever stared at a fixed point for an extended period, as if spacing out? Chuchumi is a word in Kuti, the Akateko language (a Mayan language spoken by the Akateko people), that describes the place your mind goes when you're gazing into that infinite space.

This piece is my attempt to aurally illustrate what Chuchumi feels like to me. It is based on the recycling and digital processing of vocal stems from my own songs, as well as field recordings of Northern Michigan’s natural environment.

Based on Julio Cortázar’s short story, Ahora soy un Axolotl is a piece that tries to capture my interpretation of the story: uncertainty, chaos, confusion, and at the same time, the quiet and isolated behavior of the beautiful underwater salamander; native to the freshwater in the Valley of Mexico. Lastly, the bond between the Axolotl and the man, and their journey to become one. 
This piece was composed using three analog synthesizers and digital audio processing.

While hiking in Los Dinamos, a National park located in the South of Mexico City, I realized that a bee kept following me. In the beginning, I found myself annoyed by her, but then I realized it was my instinct that made me annoyed. If I paid attention, I would realize that she was harmless; she was just minding her own business; she was fragile and beautiful. I was following her. Finally, she landed on a flower, and carefully, I started to record her. Reading about the life cycle of a queen bee and its larva, I wanted to create a piece that captures the fascinating journey of the selection process of a queen. I created my material by exploring all the different sounds from an accordion in addition to the creation of sounds using the analog synthesizer’s sequencer."

As part of the second annual 40.4 Festival, an audio-forward intermedia sonic summit, Abejas was premiered in the 40.4 multichannel system of the B2 Center for Media, Arts, and Performance at the University of Colorado Boulder.

Miyagi is a Leeds and Mumbai based producer with growing support from Rob da Bank, Bobby Friction and Nihal.  He goes straight for the box office smash with his bollystep cinematic strings and 21st century desibeatstep

Compound One deliver a minimal but funky dubstep cut as fitting for the duo's background, Member ' Qualified' has deep routes in original garage/2step and funky scenes whilst D&B producer Fracture brings the bass weight attitude.

Blacksmif's epic sample clusters and crackled beats have brought him quick attention as he edges the burialstep sound forward but its his rich jazz tinged chords and lushness that are making the likes of Mr Scruff and Gilles Peterson take note. 

Monky drops a timely juke inspired 140 roller that takes you into monobassline mode , with releases already on Brownswood and Hoya Hoya and a prolific ability to produce transcontinental future wonkstep he is one to watch.

Ramadanman is very much leading the way forward in UK based dancefloor beat culture, expert and precision production with a highly developed sense of sonic economics gives the Kate Tempest vocal on 'Parables' the proper backdrop it deserves.

Throwin Snow gets to grips with a full vocal mix of dig deeper finding a last remnant of 80's bleak synthology to work around.  Now become widely respected for sophisticated 'song' based productions this young producer is more than just dancefloor aesthetics.

Jangle is a Cardiff based producer coming into his own, a multi- instrumentalist dripping in musical talent gets to work on a lush reinterpretation of Cold.  

Trwbador are causing a buzz with their crossover folkhop sound with support from Huw stephens and Giles Peterson.  

Pocz and Pacheko supply the Tribal Guarachero approach in a infectious romp for an ultimate global twist.
