Shankara launch their sophomore return to the Shanti Planti space station to broadcast their new release; Transmission. Radiating other-worldly signals from the limbo of space, Transmission assumes the state of weightlessness in the vast vacuum between worlds—severing the tether to terrestrial boundaries as sound-waves emerge through the dark matter, gyrating in and out of perception. 

Coded with sub-frequency and apparitions of psychedelia, Transmission is rooted in earthly dub cadence while it’s tendrils reach towards the borders of territories unknown. Scattered with visions of foreign forms and taunted by memories of sapien life; Shankara serves to intoxicate the listener with the unique phenomenon of interplanetary drifting, all while remaining stationed within Earth’s gravitational pull. A minimalistic approach, highlights the organic elements, instrumentation and real-world samples. This bringing the listeners’ attention closer to the progressive development of the rhythms and melodies. Continuing that same gradual expansion of the MantisMash catalog, the syncretic Blisstorted EP covers a wide territory of fusions and rhythms.

Grounded in the lucid repetition of psydub and its fraternal siblings, Blisstorted brings breaks, neuro, drum and bass, and glitch-hop into a fresh focus, pulling classic arrangement hallmarks from each respective pool. With heavy emphasis on melody-driven songwriting and crystal clear mixing fundamentals, each of the five tracks hit the center mark for taste, novelty, and a consistent dance-floor mentality. Juicy mid-range synthesis meets crisp soprano tones and sharp percussive cuts in a medley that feels both at home in the MantisMash musical rolodex and like newfound territory for the long-time stalwart Producer.
