After playing Last of Us, I was inspired not only by the game and it's wonderful music, but I also felt the need to express some of the powerful emotion still haunting me, days after beating it. This came together as a result, mostly over one morning recording session.
It's meant to sound a bit messy and loose, and would fit an ambient environment of 'peaceful scene a midst post-apocalyptic desperation and sadness'.
(Sorry to any who added the first upload to their favorites...I wound up adding some cello this morning! I'd consider it done at this point.)

Cursed Gold: The Curse of Urkhalon
Deep in the Khar-Zar Desert, where the winds sing forgotten names and the dunes hide the ruins of fallen empires, lies the cursed treasure of Urkhalon: the Cursed Gold.
A thousand years ago, Urkhalon was an alchemist king who mastered the transmutation of metals and the manipulation of souls. In his obsession with eternity, he fused gold with the blood of fallen gods, creating coins that glowed with their own light… but devoured the will of whoever touched them.
The coins whispered. They promised power, beauty, dominion. But every wish granted came with a loss: the voice, the memory, the face, the soul. Those who possessed the Cursed Gold became golden shadows, wandering, trapped between worlds.
The kingdom of Urkhalon fell on a moonless night. The coins were scattered across the world, hidden in chests, buried in tombs, embedded in crowns. And the curse continued.
