The Duke Spirit played this showcase with us just before they broke, in a tiny room full of industry, cameramen and us. I think there's a couple videos of the show floating round too!

These recordings were taken with our Yamaha AW1600 digital desk and then mixed down in our studio afterwards. I like to share the story of this incredible collaboration.
Three days ago I was practicing some piano with a disastrous result so I decided to give up and enjoy my instinct with some electronic.
The result did missing something and that something was a voice, another instinctive element.
I love Julie Elven approach in music and, as me, she likes experimenting at any level so I have sent her the track and I asked her just for fun whether she could have let her feelings go into this.
She did it in the most wonderful and natural way and the original message below it's her writing to me after sending back the singing part.
A truly amazing process done in the most sincere way just connecting trough music and very little words.
Music has several sides and with Julie I have discover another one. Thank you Julie

A collaboration between Jane Woodman and Zoe Keating

Zoë Keating and Jane Woodman first met in 1996 when Zoë answered a listing in the San Francisco Bay Guardian for "moody, darkwave band seeking strings". Jane was already well known as the founder of major label band "Van Gogh's Daughter", whose video debut had regular rotation on MTV2. Zoë had recently arrived in San Francisco and had never before amplified her cello. Thus, along with bassist Gianfranco Pescetti, violinist Tony Cross and drummer Kat Zumbach, the band "Alfred" was formed. 

With its lush, distorted guitars and sweeping strings, "Alfred" quickly gained fans and momentum. But just as they were getting started, the band broke up. Zoë went on to join cello-rock band Rasputina and Jane focused on her solo work. 

Tango combines Jane's apocalyptic romanticism with Zoë's otherworldly cello aesthetic.
