Owned and operated by China’s quintessential electronic music label - Acupuncture Records, Lantern is set to push and stretch the boundaries of electronic sound culture development, re-defining all past propaganda and rhetoric, and reviving life into Beijing’s electronic dance scene. 

The interior of Lantern holds a warm red glow that reflect its namesake, with 2 bars offering signature cocktails and fair priced drinks, comfy booths line the walls and wrap around hidden corners; all the while integrating the creative concept of “Less is more” in its industrial minimalist decor. With three large video wall projection screens, a huge DJ booth and a palatial dance floor, the club can comfortably fit up to 500 people in its intimate niches, enveloping every cove and corner as if it were a central acoustic target. 

Weekend events feature the most innovative house and techno Beijing has to offer with regular international guest acts of the highest caliber. Other nights switch through a range of different music styles including Drum'n Bass, Dub, Electro, Retro Dance and Chillout. It’s the dream club of all DJs.

Offering DJ and VJ workshops, open deck sessions for newbies, the Sanlitun basement venue is also utilized as a core multi-media arts and culture center, transforming the club into a laboratory of sound study and experimentation by day.
