Lanthan.audio kicked off 2016 with its third release. Label owner, Christian Gerlach, has already delivered two powerful punches of conceptual techno by artists like Edit Select and Deepbass. This time the South African born, New York based producer the Echologist has been chosen to lead the five track EP. 

Echologist, also known as Brendon Moeller, has always demonstrated his passion for hypnotic synths with intense smoky atmospheres. He delivers two original tracks that have then been remixed by a familiar name to the label, Deepbass, as well as the talented Antonio Ruscito. 

With the original cuts you can expect a trippy journey into metallic loops on a spatial environment of solid beats. The Deepbass remix offers another version of the hypnotic process in ‘Dead Men Tell No Tales’ in a more powerful manner.

On the flipside, the Italian, Antonio Ruscito delivers two other interpretations of the original track through different paths. The  B2 serves us a proper banging synthetic vibe and the last bonus track, which is digital only,  is the final trip to an hypnotic and cloudy deepspace.

With this package Lanthan.audio continues showing interest on a structural sound with that artistic touch of architecture. Expect to see some more new constructions of they’re new building.

Lanthan.audio, the German label founded by Christian Gerlach, now presents its fourth release with a double LP featuring Urbano. The Brazilian-born German-based artist delivers 10 tracks where he expands different facets of his production skills.

The LP contains several powerful Techno pieces to get lost in his hypnotic rhythms as in A2 ‘Illusion’. Urbano explores his rave-like sounds with industrial grooves in B1 and D2. C2 ‘Travel Inside Your Head’ brings your mind into an acidic and loopy ecstasy combined with atmospheric cuts. Besides, B2 and D1 are your proper bangs to pump up your stamina, while C3 ‘Brother’ will definitely take you through a landscape of melodic beats.

Nevertheless, the talented DJ and producer illustrates his deep synth sounds in A1 and A3. Together with C1, ‘A Trip To Myself’ are clear examples of intense ambient voyages with melancholic vocals.

Once more, Lanthan.audio introduces a fresh name to their steadily fortifying roster, which keeps growing up with determination.

Welcome to the very first Episode of the Lanthan.audio Podcast with Jeff Derringer!

Chicago's Jeff Derringer is a staple of the American techno scene and one of its most respected producers. With releases on esteemed labels like Soma, Electric Deluxe and Perc Trax, as well as his performances and event production, Jeff is considered one of the prime movers of the Midwest techno community. As a resident at Smartbar Jeff presides over Oktave, his home-grown techno night that features the best underground artists of the international techno scene.

With a focus on production quality over quantity, every record Jeff releases has his sound signature all over it. New records are forthcoming on Soma, Lanthan Audio and Reclaim Your City.

As a performer, Jeff delivers complex and urgent soundscapes. He experiments with different set ups regularly, pushing the envelope of what's possible in a traditional techno DJ set. Jeff has taken his sound around the world, including appearances at Berghain in Berlin, Bassiani in Tbilisi, Ruigoord Church in Amsterdam, as well as the Movement Electronic Music Festival in Detroit and the Great American Techno Festival in Denver. 

While production and performance take up most of his time, Jeff continues to teach music production to students at Columbia College Chicago. Showing them the way with affordable tools and a DIY mindset, Jeff hopes to have a lasting impact on the lives of the next wave of underground talent in Chicago.
