"You Got Me" was one of those records that gave me this feeling that transcended music. It was audio theater i could see the lyrics, i was there in the story and emotionally connected. Music has lost a lot of that energy to me along with the art of story telling which is the identity and aesthetics of an artist. I felt like this was the perfect track to bring my story to life of how i fell in love with Hip Hop, my first love. I hope the same way i felt in 1999 when it dropped i could share that feeling now with some kid in 2013 that's just learning the world & discovering HipHop. Respect to Quest Love, The Roots, Erykah Badu, & Eve for giving my youth a story.
