The evenings are getting shorter, the weather is getting colder and in this strangest year of all time, that can only mean one thing - the start of the GAA championships!

And this week's LaoisToday Talking Sport Podcast (reduced to one edition this week due to the Bank Holiday) is another bumper episode as we chat about the latest action involving all four Laois senior teams.

The Laois hurlers were first in championship action last weekend when they were beaten by Dublin in the Leinster quarter-final. We look back on that game and ahead to what we can expect from the Laois hurlers in the remainder of this championship.

We also look back on a great championship win for the Laois camogie team over Kildare and Alan Hartnett explains how this competition has had to be restructured - giving Laois a great chance.

We're joined on the line by Laois footballer Gary Walsh to look back on their dramatic win over Fermanagh. Walsh scored 2-5 with his two late goals crucial in helping Laois avoid relegation to Division 3.

Walsh also chats about his infamous tweet in 2018 and how he feels he paid a disproportionate price as well as what it's like to be back playing county football. 

And we chat to Laois ladies football captain Anna Healy ahead of the start of the All Ireland ladies intermediate championship which gets underway this weekend.
