For the 19th EP on Heimlich Musik, Cologne-based producer Dario Klein delivers three gloomy bangers accompanied by remix contributions from JOIA, Samaha, Daniel Jaeger, Kapoor and Matija. Inspired by the unique vibe of the streets of Marrakech and based on live jams, the Djeema el Fna EP tells a story of music as a concept beyond consciousness. Built around melodic lead synths and broken
drums, dark basslines contribute to the mesmerizing aesthetic of the original mixes. JOIA’s interpretation of the title track puts on additional pressure with bass frequencies going right under your skin, while Samaha transforms Djeema el Fna into a euphoric hymn tailored for early morning hours. With an almost criminal bassline, Daniel Jaeger’s version of Rahmos is a housey floor killer. Kapoor’s remix sticks to the vibe of the original but adds a psychedelic touch using hypnotic arpeggios. Rounding up a diverse set of remixes, Matjia’s
version of Rahmos is a dreamy composition with a touch of optimism garnished by organic percussions.
The latest EP on Heimlich Musik is painting a colorful picture of downtempo ranging from smooth grooves over melodic tech to cutting-edge industrial bleeps.

Sometimes matching original artists with remix artists feels a bit like creating a band. You want to bring several people together that all have their own unique skillset. In the case of this EP by Da Iguana, it worked out very well. Di Laif created a very relaxed meditation version, Rafael brings the funk alive within the track, and Barbarella in this remix comes in more dancy, with Pauken & Trompeten Therefore we decided to go for a cover that reflects this wonderful band of ours, now only for a short amount of time, but maybe unified at some point in the future again...

While paradise-colored birds chirp from the trees and the moss-green lianas rustle to the beat of the wind, our boat glides gently down on the waves of the river. The symphony of the jungle enchants us with its very own harmony, chaotic and yet perfectly in tune.

Suddenly a pair of shining eyes piles up in the shallows of the water, followed by a monumental mouth full of crooked, grinning teeth. Amazed and curious, we recognize the silhouette of a hippopotamus that, with wobbling ears, tells us to follow its path.

Fascinated by the wild power of nature, we lag behind our new friend, while we hear a soothing sound from the distance, accompanied by a tremendous shaking of the earth.

As we slowly get closer to the scenery, we can hardly believe our eyes: an entire horde of hippos wiggles their hips up and down to the mesmerizing sound of a trumpet. Moved by this sight, we thank our friend and let ourselves carry away by the music.

The story above describes quite well the feelings we had in mind, while we first listened to the two tracks of the sympathetic swiss duo @okuma-sounds. It was clear to us, that an EP had to be the result of this experience.

@moonsvoyagerlive, @jpattersson, @kermesselive and @kusht-music complement this tale with their beautiful interpretations. We want to thank all artists involved in this great release as well as Kilian Van de Water for the refreshing artwork and @haunted_water for the smooth mastering.

Blindetonation hits double figures with a suitably notable new EP from Aurum Miles. Pardon Moi, Il Est Vilaine and Thomass Jackson all serve up sizzling remixes to complete this interesting package. 

Miles hails from Lithuania and has grown up around shoegaze, rock and British indie, and was later touched by electronic sounds. A keys, drums and guitar player who mixes up all these influences with narcotic weirdness, he has released on this label before and always impresses. 

The excellently elastic ‘Few Feets’ is a sleazy, low slung machine made disco jam with skewed synths, punk hits and dirty bass. Exotic vocals and dark spoken words flesh out the wonky groove and the whole thing is hugely intoxicating. ‘Easy Come Easy Go’ is a menacing number with more filthy bass guitar riffs that snake along an urban sounding landscape. More dehumanised vocals bring an edgy feel and cosmic synths serve to trip you out. Last original ‘Mojo’ completes this brilliant disco freak show with off kilter synths and guttural guitar riffs that add up to dark cosmic excellence. 

First to remix is Berlin Based New Wave Duo Pardon Moi aka James Brook and Thomas Freudenthal. They flip ‘Few Feets’ into a surging track with shooting synths that reach to the skies. It’s a spine tingling cut with plenty of intergalactic energy.  Then come the duo of Il Est Vilaine, who make twisted electronic music and get their machines dancing on labels like Dialect. Their take on ‘Easy Come Easy Go’ is libidinous and dripping with a moody tension. Propped up by rugged bass and coloured with naughty chords, it’s a psyched-out and vital version.  Lastly, label regular and esteemed modern disco man Thomass Jackson works ‘Mojo’ in to a characterfully chugging, flipped out number with scale-riding melodies and percolating bass that takes you on a real trip. 

This is an inventive package of perfectly macho dark disco.

‘Mtsvane’ in Georgian language means Green, the color Green carries the vibration of growth, harmony, new beginnings, health, renewal, harmony, hope, peace, and environment. 
Exactly one year ago we started our new year with lots of positive intentions, unstoppable musical rituals, love, endless dances, and hugs. 
At that time we couldn’t possibly imagine any of the outcomes we all are dealing with right now. 
An idea we are about to share with you has always been there. 
we have been circling around it, and 2020 made it all more clear it was time for action. 
It was time to dedicate ourselves to something bigger than all of us, and we choose to do so with what we love. 
With this movement, we’d like to spread the word into our community that we all are capable of doing more, with what we love. 
We believe that the only way to say thanks to our Mother Earth, who suffers so much especially last period, is to leave something after us. 
The whole revenue from album sales will serve global reforestation. 
Nothing from this would be possible if not for the enormous support from all the artists involved.
We are beyond grateful for this compilation, in which you'll find a glorious selection of downtempo, electronic, ethnic, folk, deep, tribal melodies.

We have teamed up with a non-profit organization,
‘’One tree planted’’. 
After collecting the revenue for the planting season, everyone involved in this project will choose a region and every dollar will plant a tree.
