With the release of our third annual Various Artists Compilation, we’re celebrating three years of LAPS Recordings—and honestly, we can hardly believe it ourselves. What started as a small hobby project has grown into a solid underground label with a clear vision, a loyal community, and a catalogue were genuinely proud of. To mark this anniversary, VA003 brings together a diverse collection of tracks that reflect the full spectrum of our sound—from deep, hypnotic techno to high-energy peak-time bangers, groovy minimal cuts, and melodic journeys. It’s a snapshot of everything LAPS stands for: quality, diversity, and an uncompromising dedication to underground music. This year's edition features a blend of familiar faces and exciting newcomers. Some of the artists on this compilation have already become a part of the LAPS family through past releases, while others are making their debut—some of whom you'll definitely hear more from in the coming months. This VA acts as both a celebration and a preview of what’s to come. In a time when the techno scene is shifting rapidly—and not always to everyone’s liking—we want to take this moment to reaffirm who we are. We’re committed to pushing forward with an open mind, staying true to our roots, and supporting innovative, quality-driven electronic music in all its forms. The one behind LAPS 022 is one of them: "The Core" lives in Vienna, Austria and is just 18 years old, but he convinced us with his unique Hardtechno sound! With "Top Tier," Sandro Mure delivers a pulse-pounding journey through the relentless sounds of hardgroove and hard techno, blending driving grooves with a seasoned touch that only comes from two decades in the scene. Known for his gritty, dancefloor-fueled sound, Mure is a Frankfurt-based powerhouse and founder of labels JLR, Hardship Recordings, and Hardgroove Connection. Having worked alongside legends like Pet Duo, O.B.I., and DJ Murphy, his tracks have become synonymous with the high-energy beats and intricate grooves that define modern hard techno. The album’s opener, “BJ2000,” brings a loose, funky hardgroove that injects pure energy into the dancefloor, blending rhythm and groove for an infectious, club-ready experience. Title track “Top Tier” ramps up the intensity with a striking fusion of tribal rhythms and hardgroove. Built around a captivating main synth line, it offers a dynamic groove that embodies the essence of peak-time techno. Closing with “Eternity,” the darkest track on the album, Mure delivers his signature forward-pushing groove, driven by a biting synth that takes the listener deep into the depths of hard techno. New year, new look: LAPS is back with a new design and new faces! LATITUD 33, two brothers from Valparadiso, Chile, kick off 2025 with a powerful 3-tracker. The title track “Broken Grounds” is a dark and driving melodic techno track that stands out for its variety. “Akasha” is more mystical but no less danceable. The final track is “Get Down”, which will get any dancefloor moving with its peak-time kick and acid-heavy synth lines.

Continuing this year with two new artists joining the LAPS family: Trip Advisor and Noah Shah. Trip Advisor began his DJ career in 2018, emerging from the rave scene around Hannover. Over time, he has developed a unique style that fuses Melodic Techno with Peak-Time elements. His talent for storytelling through harmonic progressions and driving beats is unmistakable. With “Anomaly,” he delivers an atmospheric, energetic, and deeply immersive track. Noah Shah, a DJ and producer from southern Germany, specializes in Melodic, Afro, and Peak-Time Techno. Following in his father’s footsteps, he debuted on Magic Island Deep in 2017, where he now serves as A&R. Over the years, he has gained recognition through platforms like Sunshine Radio’s Mixmission, Brillux Beats, and A State of Trance (ASOT). Noah’s remix of “Anomaly” offers a slower, more emotional and progressive take, leaning into Afro-House influences. The result is a creative reinterpretation that complements the energy of the original. Two distinct versions of “Anomaly,” both captivating and beautiful in their own way, showcasing the diverse talents of these rising artists.

With LAPS030 our latest member Albrecht from Mainz, Germany delivers a Techno 3-tracker that is unparalleled! The title track "Berlin" has a dubby, atmospheric vibe like in the good old days. "Plattform 5" is raw, dark and uncompromising Techno right from the basement. The third track "Gleisanlage" is more groovy, driving and warehouse-influenced and closes an emotional journey through the roots of techno music.

The fifth single of the VA brings some serious groove pressure: Sandro Mure returns after his successful debut last year with "Top Tier", which landed in Beatports Hard Techno charts. Now he’s back with "Lap 2", a dark and driving Hard Techno weapon infused with heavy Hardgroove energy. We’re also excited to welcome two new names to the label: HXTC from Stuttgart and SOTP from Saarbrücken. HXTC, known as the former curator for Animarum Black, joins forces with SOTP on "Just Dubbin' Around", a refreshing blend of Raw and Hardgroove Techno with Dubby textures and a more playful vibe. With the release of our third annual Various Artists Compilation, we’re celebrating three years of LAPS Recordings! The seventh and final single of this year’s VA comes from Mind Chemistry, the long-standing duo project of our label founders, teaming up with Ekko and Hans Pech. "Smoke Up" is a raw, genre-bending Hard Techno cut that fuses the past and present: distorted Industrial and Schranz elements meet punchy 303s and percussive layers, while a grimey UK vocal and rave stabs add a modern touch. As if that wasn’t enough, the break dives into full-on Drum & Bass before slamming back into a filthy Oldschool drop. A bold finish to the VA—and a proper nod to our roots.

Techno is colourful.

We are LAPS Recordings, a young, growing Techno Label from Germany! The name "LAPS" is an acronym containing the initials of our 4 founding members. At the same time it highlights the concept of time, which is a topic all our productions will revolve around! 

Coming from very different musical backgrounds, the core substance of our label sound revolves around dark, energetic and emotional melodies, forceful kickdrums and driving basslines. Those main topics reappear in all of our productions, but so do the individual tastes of all founding members.
