C'est un lieu qu'on ne présente plus sur la scène nantaise après un été rempli de succès, les Écuries Mellinet accueillent pour la toute première fois Radio DY10 pour une journée placée sous le signe du plaisir, à l'antenne bien évidemment ! Au programme, un petit plateau radio lors duquel nous avons retrouvé Nicolas Bernadeau de Big City Life pour nous parler de ce super projet qui a rameuté bien du monde lors des derniers mois, mais également des Dj's sets de résidents de la radio et attention, line up 4 étoiles pour l'occasion ! Se sont enchaînés derrière les platines Da:mu, Akira, Super Slamon, Symraah puis un b2b entre Oksa et Braz pour clôturer cette belle fête !

We met Bristol's Boursin back in the all too brief punctuation between Covid variants, when it was possible for strangers to stumble around fields serenaded by distant, muffled bass bins together, and as with anyone we demand a Forecast from we liked the cut of his jib. 

He's an excellent DJ, a pint provider at the great Strange Brew and when asked to describe the mix he did so thusly:

"This mix is pure beach vibes, if your beach is two duvets surrounded by an unhinged number of candles as the winds howl outside. A soundtrack to the 'unprecedentedness' of the day-to-day, with any solace coming from seeking shelter with your mates. Influenced by the works of Claire Rousey, Francis Harris, Terre Thaemlitz and the international ambient cru."

Lovely stuff.

Forecast 059: DJ Boursin

Vivian Koch (@kochvivian) has real range. For labels like Life And Death, a.r.t.less and AD 93 she has served up everything from IDM to moody breaks, ambient soundscapes to emotive techno. Her most recent album - last year's ominous but hopeful Beyond Contact - was fine proof of that from the Berlin-based artist who started DJing aged just 16. She has since mastered the art of making and playing club music thanks to her residency at Griessmuehle and her own Olympe party series.

She very much eases into this week with a superb ambient selection. It's broad in its remit, with the most beautiful and suspensory pieces bleeding into gently suggestive rhythms. The moods, too, range from mind-emptying bliss to passages of hopefulness and even romance. It's the sort of cathartic listen we all occasionally need to immerse ourselves in as a way of resetting.

Daydreaming in Eora.

Theory Therapy 36 is an hour of introspective ambient by Sydney/Eora’s Mia Landy. We’re such a big fan of the handful of mixes Mia has done so far—especially the isolation mix they put up on their soundcloud last year—that we had to ask her to contribute to the series. 

Their Theory Therapy mix, like their other recordings, is completely absorbing. It has an almost dreamlike quality to it. Voices bubble just below the surface, songs drift off in unexpected directions and there’s a kind of warm analog crackle throughout that makes it feel vaguely lo-fi and slightly nostalgic.

ADM Selections is back, delivering 10 different tracks from artists you may or may not be familiar with from all across the globe.

Opening the LP, we welcome Clearlight to the label with the track "Cavern Sound,” with almost tribal-like vibes, a haunting atmosphere, and drums that take you on a journey. Khromi's remix of "Fever Mood" is smooth, jazzy, and infused with his own style. Mikrodot's "Monastery" sets the stage for deep, sub-driven vibes, with Tetrad and newcomer Boneless carrying the vibe into deeper territory. Repulsion's "VRR" flips between breakbeats and minimalist influences. Newcomers, Buex & No Compli balance floaty textures of atmosphere with jungle-influenced breakbeats in their track "Ghosts Of Spice." While Inertia changes the direction of the album with his track "Nobody," featuring a massive, thick reverberating subline with a distorted Reese. It segues nicely into the closing tracks by Split and NRB, finishing out the album on a vocal-driven 140 tip. This album explores the broad sound representative of After Dark Music.
