Drawing on personal and familial experiences, Turn It Over explores themes of obsession and desire and the impact it can have on individuals and the relationships in their lives.

With influences including artists such as Celeste, Melody Gardot, Jacob Collier, Jamie Cullum and Erykah Badu, Lara de Belder introduces her original pop with producer Joe Rodwell, infused with flavours of jazz, blues, funk, soul, RnB, indie, folk and electronic dance styles.

This is the first track in what will be an eventual concept album looking at the journey of a relationship’s breakdown and the different themes weaving throughout.

Overtime is the initial song I wrote in the first UK lockdown of the COVID pandemic, 2020. A dreamy yet energetic, quirky alt-pop/chill pop song with influences of blues and close harmony female jazz vocals, Overtime is about the hypnotic feel of attraction.

Originally from North Yorkshire, London-based Singer, Songwriter, Actor and Musical Director Lara de Belder studied Music at the University of Leeds before training in Musical Theatre at the Royal Academy of Music in London. 
She has since worked as a performer and creator in theatre, film, TV and concert, and is the co-writer and creator of new British comedy musical, Bird Brigade, alongside Luka Antony Bjelis which was long-listed for the Stiles and Drewe Mentorship Award 2021.  

Lara de Belder's passion for an eclectic range of musical genres has influenced her as a writer of original material fusing pop with elements of jazz, blues, funk, soul, RnB, folk and electronic dance styles, debuting in 2021.
Turn It Over was released in May 2021 with producer Joe Rodwell. 
Overtime will be released 24/09/21.
