Tony is a musical storyteller shaped by depth, not algorithms. Raised in Zurich and mentored early by his handicapped uncle - a passionate audiophile who taught him to listen long before he learned to play - Tony discovered the emotional architecture behind sound while other kids chased melodies.

What began as a quiet obsession turned into a lifelong pursuit of tension, release, and the frequencies between. As an aficionado of underground culture, aka-Tony avoids the obvious. His sets are sculpted narratives—textural, cerebral, raw—spanning dubby margins, broken rhythms, and hypnotic progressions that reward the deep listener and the relentless dancer alike.

No gimmicks, no crowd-pleasing shortcuts. Just rare grooves, long blends, and a precise sense of timing that comes only from years in the booth and countless nights immersed in sonic detail.

Playing regularly across Zurich and Berlin, and hosting two podcast series, aka-Tony is part of a quiet resistance in electronic music—where taste still matters, and curation is a form of care.

Playing at Garbicz was a big dream I've had since my the first time I attended it back in 2019. So there was so much fiery yet patient passion in me lounging to be expressed in this debut set. At the same time, I have felt the collective burden SO much given all the unacceptable atrocities going on in many places in the world...

A lesson my therapist has helped me to navigate it: the price we pay for suppressing a certain emotion is that we end up suppressing ALL of our emotions.

Let that sink in for a moment...

The joy I felt was not "despite" everything happening in the world, but rather In Acknowledgement and Recognition of it, with all the emotions it evokes. It was the only way I found to honor the blessing of living this dream authentically. That’s why this became one of my most powerful sets.

Nina Simone once said: “An artist’s duty is to reflect the times.” And this set truly did! It was a proper blast with many of my favorite tracks AND, at the same time, a prayer filled with powerful messages and (indigenous) wisdom to guide us through the times we are living.

Thank you to Garbicz for having me, especially to @lichtung_garbicz and to everything it Stands for. Also big gratitude to every friend and dancer who waited through delays, woke up early, or stepped out of their tents to join me at @alisteebar. Your fiery energy is woven into the recording 🔥 And to those who shed tears during or after — I feel you. I cried twice while preparing this set myself.

May it uplift us to meet the responsibility that comes with privileges. May it remind us of the power of our daily choices. May it spark peace, unity, and positive change in a fractured world. Because we are truly strong only when we stand together! And I deeply believe in the connective Power of Music to help us get there 🫶🏼

Sag mal, wie erlebst du eigentlich deinen Zyklus? Wie fühlt sich das an, und wie würde das klingen? 

Die ganz individuellen Erfahrungen von Periode und der Vielfalt des erlebten Zyklus möchten wir mit dem Podcast DISBLUTAPE hörbar machen. Mit jedem TAPE kann ein*e DJ-Künstler*in sich musikalisch ausdrücken und uns ihre Wahrnehmungen aufzeigen. Denn Musik kann eine Brücke sein, um anderen Menschen Situationen fühlbar zu machen, die sie vielleicht selbst nicht erleben.

Haana Peony (wobei ich wohl bald das „e“ verkaufe und auf das Pony satteln werde :D)

Mit welchen Pronomen möchtest du angesprochen werden?

Welches Genre spielst du?
Vor allem Indiedance und Darkdisco hin zum „Kuschel“-Trance. Ich fühle mich zwischen 125 und 145BPM wohl.

Welches Thema hast du in deinem Podcast vertont?
Ich habe meinen Podcast über einen Zyklus lang zusammengestellt, damit
versucht, meine Phasen, auch damit verbunden Schmerz, unendliche Liebe und Energie der jeweiligen Phasen darzustellen. Dazu hat auch die Endometriose und mein PMS einen Platz erhalten. Von Periode, zu Follikel über Eisprung zur Lutealphase ist alles dabei.

Warum hast du dich entschieden, dieses Thema zu vertonen?
Ich möchte versuchen, den Zyklus und seine Vielfalt für Menschen erlebbar zu machen, die selbst keinen Zyklus haben. Vielleicht ist das ein oder andere Gefühl dazu besser nachvollziehbar? Vielleicht schaffen wir es dadurch Zyklus, Menstuation und Endometriose sichtbarer und fühlbarer zu machen?

Worin steckt deiner Meinung nach die Kraft des Zyklus?
In der Vielfältigkeit! Seitdem ich verstehe, wie mein Zyklus funktioniert, habe ich verstanden, wie mein Körper funktioniert und so schließlich auch ich als Ganzes. (Mein Zyklus ermöglicht es mir, dass ich Phasen habe, in denen ich meine Energie teilen kann und Vieles parallel schaffe. Dafür ist es auch okay im Gegenzug ein paar Tage im Zyklus nur für mich und in der Stille zu sein. Ich mag diese Gegensätze und fühle mich gestärkt, zu verstehen, wie ich sie nutzen kann.

Welche Gefühle, Schmerzen, schöne Momente nimmst du in der jeweiligen Phase wahr?
Kurz vor und während meiner Periode geht es mir tatsächlich nicht so gut, ich
habe starke Rückenschmerzen und Krämpfe im unteren Bauch. Ich merke,
dass mein sozialakku vollkommen leer ist, ich antriebslos und erschöpft bin. Meistens mache ich mir in dieser Zeit und den Tagen davor, ziemliche Vorwürfe. Ich spreche mir meine eigenen Fähigkeiten ab und mache mir Vorwürfe für alles mögliche. Auch, wenn ich darüber reflektiert sprechen kann, so bekomme ich die Gefühlsebene kaum verändert. Das ist hart. Umso mehr genieße ich meine Follikelphase und den Eisprung im Besonderen. Ich fühle mich selbstbewusst, bin super produktiv, liebe meinen Job in der Schule, mein Hobby als DJ und meine Positionen bei beiden Kollektiven. Es geht mir (meistens) richtig gut! In Hinblick darauf, dass meine Stimmung nicht durchgehend so ist, kann ich das frühlingshafte und sommerliche Gefühl umso mehr schätzen.

🌱 What’s the most important piece of advice you would give your younger self?
Oh, that’s a good one. I’d probably say: trust your instincts and really listen to what your gut is telling you. And I mean really listen, especially when it comes to big life decisions. There are moments when logic won’t give you the answers you need — but your intuition usually knows the way.

🫣 Is there a city or place you’re eager to visit in the future, and why?
There are so many! I absolutely love traveling, and I’ve been lucky to explore some incredible places over the past few years — but the list of where I still want to go just keeps growing. I’d love to dive deeper into parts of Africa, South America, and Asia I haven’t seen yet. But honestly, it’s hard to name just one spot. The world has so much to offer, and I can’t wait to keep discovering it all, even more so with my music :)

🎤If you could speak any language fluently, which one would you choose and why?
Definitely Spanish. Apart from English, it’s the one language that really connects you to so many parts of the world. I’ve played quite a few shows in Mexico lately, and every time I’m there, I wish I spoke it better. Guess it’s about time I change that :)
