I've been working on my music, and all of these songs have been written during the pandemic and some before hand which have been rewritten and recorded.

Songs Written in Isolation- by Lara Lenhoff

When a relationship ends, and you are left feeling high and dry, its the memories that play over and over in your head. If you've ever found yourself in a relationship that left you questioning your identity, your worth, and your sanity, this song is for you. Left high and dry with nothing but tears in my eyes.

Tied Up On A Railroad

You'll hear my puppy Simon's contribution with the "tambourine" sound with his collar as I put this little song together. It's funny, when you come out of a relationship and are feeling everything all at once and then nothing at all, some great stuff comes out- at least it does to me. Crazy and Real is just simply getting everything outta me that needed to come out- was there ever love? The lyrics suggest there was at one point- but I was given up on, at least in my mind. These songs are healing songs- much like with Tied Up on A Railroad which was a much more somber song written days after I was ghosted by a rolling stone. This one is more about acceptance and letting go of something/someone. We have to let go of what's wrong for us. So we can heal, love- love ourselves, and then find that real love that exists. that real stupid love that takes its time and is beautiful. It's all good. life goes on. love exists. I believe it does anyway. the good kind that sticks around.

The Last One

I was inspired to write this song back in 2018 when my husband and I went to San Diego. It had been ages since I'd been to the ocean, and once I got in, I started writing this song. I've been working on it for the past year or so and finally got to where I wanted to share it and pass on the message of what this song is about. Sometimes in life you are going to fail- and those times and times to learn from. You can find yourself in failure if you pay attention to it, learning from your mistakes, and then carry on with life and find happiness by not giving up on yourself.

Walk Until You Can Run- Written by Lara Lenhoff

This song is about reaching out to those closest to you for help during hard times. Strong and close friendships mean everything to me, and I have been blessed with some great people that I have known for over 20 years. If you've ever taken a drive late at night with your memories playing over and over in your mind, this song is for you. Hard times are tough to get through, and sometimes it's easy to give up- but DON'T. Hang in there and be strong, and confide in those you know you can trust. Sometimes there's beauty in a breakdown- it's cleansing and can help you reset. Don't be afraid to let it out so you can move ahead, because bottling it up is detrimental without a release.

Save Me- Written by Lara Lenhoff

With everything going on in our country- watching the protests and hearing voices clearly and loudly about making change, standing up for civil rights, fighting against police brutality, watching the violence after curfews and the car chases in California- It's been amazing to see the groups of people stationed outside the governors mansions wanting to be heard, and the white house, where everything BUT an appropriate response has been given to us. This song- this is what has been going through my head- the vocal harmonies and all- which were inspired by my love for Brian Wilson and his gift for harmonies and magic with vocals. Basically, we all need a shoulder to cry on, when the darkness comes.

When The Darkness Comes- Written by Lara Lenhoff

I was up late in the studio as I have been while writing and putting together my first complete project. Rehearsing a few songs, I let go and what was on my mind surfaced and turned into this little fun song. I think as we get older we slowly to start to see the errors of our ways. Artistically this is what was born, my stream of consciousness love child. Tomorrow I perform for the first time in Nashville and I can't wait. More to come soon as an awesome project is developing. I Get In The Way- Written By Lara Lenhoff

I initially wrote the lyrics to Pieces of the Puzzle back in 2007 and performed it at the Prophet Bar in Dallas, TX. It had a different melody and chord arrangement and I just had to step away from it for a while and came back to it off and on throughout the years. 13 years later, this is how I wanted it all to come together. I'm looking forward to having other instruments and drums come in in the near future. 

The song itself was written when I was in a place in my life where I was lost, searching for meaning in things, reading a lot, and trying to find inspiration for what I was doing at that point with my songwriting and my life.  I was 27 and lots of personal things had transpired that contributed to the backbone of this song; Relationships- especially toxic ones were getting to me at this point in my life, and when those are around, you gotta get away from them. This song is about falling apart a bit and then finding the strength to put yourself back together. Tossing and turning at night, I put myself into this song completely artistically.

Pieces Of The Puzzle - Written by Lara Lenhoff

I have been playing the piano since I was about 9 years old. I went through a lot of piano teachers as I got older because I began playing songs the way I heard them, improvising and making them my own. I started writing my own music and performed in a band in high school and pursued and performed music throughout college and played in venues in Santa Fe and Dallas and Denton, TX. 

Music has always provided me with an outlet to heal and express myself, as has painting. I've been working as a visual artist for the past 6 years and have art in homes all over the country.  Music and art have been constant forces in my life. 

There are a few raw recordings of covers and then I produced new originals with more to come. 

It's been a thrill to have this recording gear to be able to do vocal harmonies and have the songs sound the way I hear them in my head.

Tied up on a Railroad was written when I was going through my separation and divorce. It’s one of my favorite songs that I really want to get more musicians on and amp it up a bit and rock it out. I wrote it two days after he moved out and it sums up everything I felt in that moment. 
I’ve grown so much since.
