Lost Records have drafted in Hector Couto to helm the label’s sophomore release. Straight off the bat Hector kicks off the EP with the title track “I Believe”, a hypnotic and infectious number armed to the teeth with precise hi-hats and brooding basslines. “I Believe” cements Hector Couto’s production to an ever evolving sound while setting the stage perfectly for the follow up track “Knight Riders”.

Built on similar foundations to “I Believe”, “Knight Riders” introduces a rich soundscape, playingdeep and shadowy attributes against a field of succinct vocals and lead synth lines. Closing the EP we have remix heavyweights Waifs & Strays, 2013 being a blistering year for the production duo so far, seeing them feature on a plethora of releases. The remix ticks the boxes on what is becoming a key set of signature attributes that make up the duo’s sound, welding key features of the original and pinning them into a heavier groove whilst playing off atmospheric build ups and break downs.

Reason why I went in a different direction is that this track just calls for a simple groove with nice synths, so instead of trying to spin it into something it doesn't want to be I just gave it a rework. I have the main lead from Jun-6v layered with a bunch to get a 90s dance vibe going. You can expect some proper knock stuff when I am home again and ready to finish up some vault stuff

Chief is proud to present you a new addition to the Chief family! ItaloBros , two wicked producers who have been delivering solid house music for some time now, created two amazing tracks for house lovers. The two Italian producers released music on great labels such as: I'M A HOUSE GANGSTER, Roush, Love Not Money Records, Simma Black, Guesthouse Records and many more.
The EP is named after the first track called “Got Me”, a groovy tech house track consisting of solid drums, groovy bassline and smooth synth action. An addictive track that for sure will make you dance.
Second track in the pack is called “Waves”. This track has a heavy stomping groove and wicked vocal shots. The bassline flows greatly among the drums and wicked percussion, making this a banging track.

Cast your mind back to 1992. The world wide web had only just been invented, and mobile phones were for yuppies and drug dealers. The world we know today was just being born – and being born right at the same time, over in Chicago, was a little label called Large.

Large Music was the brainchild of Windy City resident Jeff Craven, who was worried that house music was in danger of being sidelined in its own birthplace, the international spotlight that had once shone on the pioneering Trax and DJ International imprints having moved on to New York labels such as Strictly Rhythm, Nervous and 8-Ball. “I thought a label with that kind of energy and underground profile could work in Chicago,” says Jeff.  So, pooling funds with a friend, he began finding talent and pressing records. Kerri Chandler's 'Raw Grooves EP' became the label's breakout release, and Large Music hasn't looked back since.

In fact, far from looking back, Large is a record label that's always been about looking forward. In the 90s, their catalogue featured the likes of DJ Sneak, Mateo & Matos and Dennis Ferrer when they were right at the start of their careers, not to mention providing a then-nascent UK garage scene with one of its most enduring anthems in the form of Roy Davis Jr's 'Gabriel'. In the 2000s, the Chicago-based label was quick to pick up on the deep and soulful house coming from the West Coast, releasing material from the likes of Halo, Jay-J, Rasoul, Miguel Migs and Julius Papp. And now as a new decade takes shape, we see Jeff embracing the techier deep house sound that's emerged out of Europe, with recent releases from the likes of Roland Nights, Evan Iff, James Dexter and Matthias Vogt.

Yet while fashions fluctuate and music mutates, one thing that hasn't changed is the Large A&R policy. It's simple: “My formula has always been to release music that I was really into and what I would play as a DJ,” says Jeff. “I'm still just as excited about house music as I was in 1992.” Which probably explains how Large has been able to stay relevant all these years – this is one veteran label that isn't content to endlessly rehash former glories, but who instead keep searching out new underground talent.

At the time of writing this, Large Music is 20 years old, with some 200 singles and 50 albums under their belt, and tracks licensed to over 400 compilations. Which means they've been putting out upfront house music on a weekly basis since before many of the people dancing to it in clubs this weekend were even born. They set out to ensure that house music didn't get sidelined in Chicago in the 90s. What they've actually achieved is to push house forward all over the world for two decades – and counting…
