Empathy Slow - Inflect Records on Melodic Distraction Radio (April '22)

Kipras a.k.a. Empathy Slow (@empathyslow) became a resident DJ at his local club in Lithuania at the very young age.  Since then, he continues his journey, studying music production in London, where he played in various clubs. Later he moved to North England to study Media, Music and Sound. Since he has finished his studies, he continues experimenting with music and constantly making new projects while occasionally performing. Currently Empathy Slow is back at his homeland and lives in Lithuania’s capital Vilnius, where he is working on new music and partialy his record label called Inflect Records.

Earlier this year we were happy to release @Ferraritrax’s first ever track on @AEON-audio; a crafty remix of Alex Niggemann’s ‘Rise of the Machines’. Towards the end of November, the Italian producer’s ‘Jungle Boogie’ EP will brighten up the darker months of the year. Ferrari wrote the record during Italy’s strict lockdown evenings and first days of easing the restrictive measures, which created a sound of both frenzy and relieve.

The record’s title track creates expectations, which it meets, but not in the exact way you expected it. ‘Jungle Boogie’ starts with native percussion rhythms, but swiftly evolves into a fever dream with altered bird sounds that create an extraterrestrial impression. While female vocals are trying to get to you, you get lost more and more in the acid jungle Ferrari created. While the animals celebrate the temporary absence of mankind. 

‘Trancektor’ immediately spirals down towards even deeper parts of your unconscious. This time, however, the world you find yourself in feels more like an 80s arcade game. Circling, Italo disco-inspired synths swirl around you as the spatial sounding beat runs on.

The third track on the EP, ‘Tellurico’, is an uplifting tune with forceful keys that push you forward. The choir hypnotises this song’s listeners all the way to the end. 

The closing track of the ‘Jungle Boogie’ EP brings you into calmer waters, allowing you to recover a bit from your little journey. However, ‘Freakin’’ intensifies as it goes forward elevating you one last time.
AEON invited Whitesquare - well known from his releases on Dj Tennis infamous „Life & Death“ - to rework ‘Jungle Boogie’s title track. He silenced the birds, but the trippiness of the track stays, while some new tropical animals enter the stage.

This storytelling EP of five tracks shows some excellent curatorship of the Berlin-based label.

After his turn it down music debut "back in flight", this is the second release from Manchester-based Kid Machine. In keeping with the season, the opener track is called "Iceman". On the B - side the track "Strange Lands" awaits the inclined listener with fresh retro electro with an Italo disco touch.

This week we welcome Empathy Slow - co-owner of Inflect Records for a 60 minute session!

Kipras a.k.a. Empathy Slow became a resident DJ at his local club in Lithuania when he was only 16.  Since then he continued his journey, studying music production in London, where he played in various clubs. 

In 2016 he moved to North England to study Media, Music and Sound. Up north Kipras continued maturing as an artist and learned how to apply his creativity while occasionally performing around the area. In 2019 Kipras and his congenial Jack started a new up and coming Indie Dance record label – Inflect Records.

 

Empathy Slow would describe his style as Progressive electronica. He says "I have started this a long time ago, even though I would not push myself a lot as DJ I still have lots of valuable experience playing to different crowds moulding my own style with some influences from my roots." Therefore, he feels like he’s able to apply his creativity in different ways while playing and producing from electronica to techno.

Ludviq "Disease " EP

"Vindicta" and "Disease" are two original tracks that are spreading a boundless dark atmosphere with a minimal and not overcrowded sound. "Vindicta" keeps tension from the beginning till the end of the track. Big deep and strong bass takes the main role putting in front the dark feeling colored by mystical vocal loops and techno percussive groove. The title track "Disease" continues the concept of the importance of bass and background vocals. Minimal techno groove, neat arrangement, simple but straight to the point percussive arp.
