Donald Trump was savvy enough to ride a growing wave of anger in the American population against the Washington Establishment’s “forever wars,” and the related collapse of the economy under their weight, into the White House in 2025. He quickly opened direct communication with Russian President Vladimir Putin to work on peace in Ukraine, slamming the brakes on Biden’s defiant drive to World War III against Russia. Trump refused to include neocons such as Mike Pompeo and John Bolton in his government, rightly arguing that they had stampeded the country into war one too many times. And he even started cleaning the London-run permanent bureaucracy out of the intelligence community – some refer to it as the “Deep State” – and turned instead to reliable professionals such as Tulsi Gabbard at DNI and Kash Patel at the FBI.

But is that savvy Donald Trump now so foolish – or so manipulable by the know-it-all British and their Israeli junior partners – to be seriously contemplating escalating American attacks against the Houthis in Yemen into an all-out strike against Iran? A strike that would include an attempted knockout blow against Iran’s well-protected nuclear program, which could end up covering the entire region of Southwest Asia in a radioactive cloud, even if a broader war were somehow avoided?

Trump’s own escalating rhetoric against Iran points in that direction. But more than the rhetoric, there is last week’s deployment of a half-dozen B-2 stealth bombers to the U.S.-U.K. military base on Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean, within striking distance of Iran. There is the reported shipment of a sophisticated THAAD anti-missile system to Diego Garcia, which is otherwise largely unprotected from air attacks. There is the deployment of a second aircraft carrier strike group, the USS Vinson, to join the USS Truman in the Red Sea.

Have the Israelis and the British managed to convince Trump that Iran would crumble under such a “decapitation” strike? Has his own intelligence team, perhaps still reeling from the British-orchestrated SignalGate scandal, not been able to provide the actual intelligence that shows otherwise?

On April 1, one of Russia’s most level-headed senior diplomats, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov, warned against such an American strike on Iran: "Threats are indeed heard, ultimatums are heard… The consequences of this, especially if the strikes are on nuclear infrastructure, could be catastrophic for the entire region.” Ryabkov offered Russia’s help to deescalate the crisis: “While there is still time and the ‘train has not left the station,’ we need to redouble our efforts to try to reach an agreement on a reasonable basis. Russia is ready to offer its good services to Washington, Tehran, and everyone who is interested in this," he said.

That kind of cooperation among the United States, Russia, China and others, is essential to defuse the war danger that now threatens in various theaters -- Southwest Asia, the Taiwan Strait, and of course Ukraine – and to initiate deliberation on the broader issue, a new security and development architecture. It is the old architecture which is spawning war after war, as well as economic looting and financial breakdown.



April 4th 2025 International Peace Coalition #96 – Out of the Frying Pan, Into the Fire

Putin’s top envoy and CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund Kirill Dmitriev met in the White House with Steve Witkoff on Friday. Despite drama being stirred up in mainstream media about Trump being angry that negotiations are “stalling,” Dmitriev indicated a different, more positive tone, in an X post: “Whatever your politics—dialogue between the US and Russia matters. It’s about building a more secure, more prosperous world for everyone.” Yesterday, Dmitriev posted on Telegram a more complete explanation of his diplomacy: "Dialogue between Russia and the
U.S., which is of the utmost importance for the entire world, has been completely destroyed under the previous administration of U.S. President Joe Biden." Further, "numerous forces in many countries are now vying to derail the efforts being made by Moscow and Washington to restore relations. The opponents of rapprochement are afraid that Russia and the U.S. will find common ground, begin to better understand each other and build cooperation, both in international affairs and in the economy."President Trump has also indicated that he is willing to engage in indirect negotiations with Iran, surprising those who wish to see an immediate attack on that nation, coordinated with Israel.

The present situation in the world, whether in Ukraine, Southwest Asia, or anywhere else, demands non-war, nonviolent solutions which represent a complete change in the present way of thinking. The Russia-U.S. resumption of relations represents one such axiomatic shift taking place, which is driving the imperial warmongers in the City of London insane.

The American System of Physical Economy—not “political economy,”but physical economy— should be put to international use in the formation of a new, security and development architecture. This is achievable because of the new strategic geometry of the BRICS+ and Global South nations which has come into existence, and which the neocons in Washington and London have deliberately been trying to ignore. President Trump’s inclination to reach a long-term settlement of the Ukraine crisis puts him at odds with imperial British financial forces, and their employees in the intelligence and media establishments, that are now pushing for him to go to war in Iran, China, and other places.

We must not sit on the sidelines at this historic crossroads. Rather, in the tradition of great patriotic figures in American history, such as Martin Luther King, Jr., or Lyndon LaRouche, we can act as historical individuals, viewing the world “from the mountaintop.”

Daily Update w. Harley Schlanger Apr 11th – A Good Moment to End Neo-Liberal Globalism

On April 9, the same day that Trump’s nation-specific tariffs took effect, Trump announced a 90-day pause on those tariffs for most nations—the well-behaved ones—with the notable exception of China, on whom Trump brazenly announced a 125% tariff, because of the "lack of respect that China has shown to the World’s Markets," and in retaliation for China’s announced reciprocal 84% tariff on US imports.

Looming in the background of the bravado and news headlines is a financial system which is ready to blow sky-high, perhaps beginning in the bond market, and which, in its terminal condition, could not be saved by any amount of liquidity pumping or bailout.

Add to this picture—because it is an integral part of the same system—the multiple flashpoints of war that still loom. At the moment, a meeting, or perhaps indirect negotiation, between US and Iranian representatives is planned for April 12 in Oman—a hopeful step toward diffusing a war that could quickly turn nuclear—while at the same time, the US amasses weaponry in the region and announces new sanctions targeting Iran’s nuclear program. Conditions have not yet been agreed upon for an end to the war in Ukraine, and Israel proceeds in its genocidal liquidation of Gaza.

Moments like this must give us pause to think, along with Dr. Martin Luther King, that "only when it’s dark enough, can you see the stars." The fact that there is no solution within the dying geopolitical system of empire, war, and Wall St. means that the only way out is via the creation of a new system, a new paradigm, based on entirely different axioms than the current one.

Daily Update May 14th – The Dangerous Omission from U.S. Mideast Peace Plan

Why was Lyndon LaRouche the world's most accurate economic forecaster? In discussions with international collaborators Helga Zepp-LaRouche emphasized the danger emanating from the unwillingness of the European war party to seek peace and use negotiations to bring the Russia/Ukraine conflict to an end. The “Rearm Europe” campaign to make the European nations “war ready” and deliver more heavy weapons to Ukraine is escalating, despite high-level negotiations going on between the US and Russia. 
Zepp-LaRouche said: 

“Now, very worrisome also in line with the militarization of Europe, is the fact that Germany and Great Britain, together, decided on the development of the new, long-range missile, with a range of more than 2,000 km. That has been presented by the defense ministers of both countries, British Defense Minister John Healey and German Minister Boris Pistorius; naturally 2,000-5,000 km normally is called a medium-range missile, but they are calling it a long-range missile, and obviously, this goes way beyond the Taurus; and the Taurus, this is mooted in some alternative media articles, that Merz may have already decided on the Taurus, and just not made it public.”

“ What is circulating widely is a so-called “Green Book” by the Bundeswehr, which demands a change in mentality, and it’s basically long descriptions and handbooks, how the civilian society must be pulled into military logic; the healthcare system has to be made ready to deal with 1,000 injured per day; then it has all detailed guidelines for how every household should have an emergency reserve of food, water, and electricity, first-aid courses, civil training in the schools, more money for the Red Cross and so forth and so on: It’s a complete hysteria.” 

Whereas Merz, in a television show May 15, made an attempt to play down, for the moment, the importance of the discussion about a delivery of Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine, news from London the same day indicated that there may be worse things on the agenda than the Taurus. The so-called Trinity House agreement signed on October 23, 2024, under German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, will be realized now under Chancellor Merz.

In an already tense strategic climate, the introduction in the U.S. by President Trump of a "Golden Dome" missile defense system increases the threat of nuclear war with Russia and China, rather than enhancing security.  Dr. Theodore Postol, who is a renowned expert on modern warfare and nuclear weapons, will discuss with Helga Zepp-LaRouche his conclusions about the danger inherent in the design of the system.

In his review of the proposal, Postol concludes that 1.)  this proposal of the Trump Administration poses an enormous danger to geopolitical stability; and 2), the second part of the Trump Administration’s proposal, which is to expand the ground-based missile defense system,  would simply increase the size of a defense system that now provably has no missile defense capability. 

However, he believes that rather than serving as a deterrent, the appearance of an expanded missile defense program might well result in the Russians and Chinese feeling compelled to expand their offense of nuclear forces to offset perceptions that the United States might have some residual capability to negate their nuclear deterrents.

When combined with the insistence of Germany's new Chancellor Merz that the limits be lifted to the range of long-range missiles provided to Ukraine, we are entering a moment of extreme instability which heightens the risk of nuclear war. 

This discussion follows last weekend's Schiller Institute conference which focused on the "LaRouche Solution" to the strategic crisis, centered around the battle to establish a new strategic and development architecture to replace the collapsing Unipolar Order.

Daily Update w. Diane Sare – Russia Will Not Lose This War

The underlying theme of last weekend’s Schiller Institute conference, “A Beautiful Vision for Humanity in Times of Great Turbulence,” focused on the dying, imperial world order of the City of London and Wall Street, and the need to replace it with a new paradigm governed by principles in coherence with natural law and the universe. The vision for a new security and development architecture based upon economic development and sovereignty was deliberated upon by former diplomats, scientists, farmers, intelligence analysts, and activists at the conference.

While a “Council of Reason,” convened by Schiller Institute Founder Helga Zepp-LaRouche through the International Peace Coalition process and the Memorial Day Conference this past weekend, has been acting as a positive force for peace and development, these past couple of days have shown new feats of lunacy in Europe, specifically by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, who after speaking with the illegitimate Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Berlin, announced that Germany would finance Ukraine’s ability to produce long-range Taurus and other missiles capable of striking deep into Russian territory. Earlier, Merz announced that Germany, France, the U.S., and the U.K. had eliminated any limits on the range of missiles fired into Russia by Ukraine. That was later contradicted by his Vice Chancellor, but it’s clear that the intent of inflicting a strategic defeat on Russia, even if it means the destruction of Europe, is not really a concern for the Coalition of the Brain-Dead.

The response from Russia was very blunt. A leading Russian military analyst, and Editor-in-Chief of Russia’s “National Defense,” Igor Korotchenko, presented a political-legal justification for retaliating to Taurus missiles being fired into Russian territory. Korotchenko said, “How should Russia react to this? In such a case, we must first destroy/raze these factories as a one-time and demonstrative deterrent measure, for example, with two Oreshnik missiles carrying 12 hypersonic blocks of non-nuclear warheads, so that Germany will no longer be able to build such cruise missiles in the next five to seven years. This will first be a non-nuclear strike.”

The leading establishments in the trans-Atlantic, and their financial controllers in the City of London and Wall Street, are determined to bring about thermonuclear war to prevent the disintegration of their quadrillion-plus derivatives financial bubble. Despite some opposition from President Trump, neocons and other “Deep State” operatives continue to strategically blind Trump and lead him into provocative, hard headed statements. How come Trump, for example, didn’t even know that the Russian President had flown into a Ukrainian barrage of drones over the week?

The Memorial Day Weekend Conference of the Schiller Institute indeed provides a beautiful vision for humanity to act upon, and create. Speeches and presentations from the six panels of the two-day conference are to be deployed now as an intervention unto the population. Ray McGovern attended and addressed the Schiller Institute Memorial Day Conference “A Beautiful Vision for Humanity in Times of Great Turbulence!” in Newark, NJ.

Mr. McGovern delivered his remarks entitled “There Is Such A Thing As Too Late” during Panel 1 of the two-day conference. 

During the May 27 broadcast of the “Judging Freedom” podcast of Judge Andrew Napolitano reported the Schiller Institute’s May 24-25 Conference, “A Beautiful Vision for Humanity in Times of Great Turbulence!” Immediately following his introduction of guest Ray McGovern (former senior CIA analyst, and co-founder of the Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity (VIPS), Napolitano asked McGovern, who had addressed the conference, what the two-day Memorial Day weekend event was about, and for McGovern’s feel for the attitude of young people about war and peace.

McGovern reported that the Schiller Institute is reaching out to young people to inspire them to do something about the indignities happening in our own country and abroad. He said they’re having some success, and working really hard at it.

McGovern reported on the presentations made at the conference, including his own and that by Scott Ritter, former Marine intelligence officer and UN weapons inspector. He described the speeches as “motivational speeches,” that were a little bit about history, but that they also challenged the audience to act. There is such a thing as “too late,” he stressed. McGovern said the more informed people are, the more motivated they are.

The International LaRouche movement activities last week included developments all around the world, including Washington DC, New York, (NY), Moscow (Russian Federation), South Africa, Canada, Germany, and more. Here are some highlights:

Tonight we start with a message from Diane Sare- President, LaRouche Organization, warning of whether a coup is being run on President Donald Trump. This statement is flying around on the social media network Tiktok.

After this past weekend’s June 1 Ukrainian “Operation Spiderweb” attacks on Russian airports, the LaRouche movement was mobilized by Monday morning to act to pull the reins back the danger of nuclear war, producing and distributing the leaflet titled “Step Back From The Brink of World War III!!”
