Sabo welcomes Israeli artist Laroz to Sol Selectas for a magical release that’s deep and intimate with emotive melodies.

Laroz also known as Laroz Camel Rider has been a regular feature on the label's Summer Sol compilations, but this time is back with his own EP that features two original tracks alongside remixes by Rodrigo Gallardo and Sam Shure.

In addition to Sol Selectas, Laroz's music can also be found on other imprints including Diynamic and Souq Records. This release takes inspiration from his love of African music, and fuses traditional ethnic rhythms with organic house beats.

Rodrigo Gallardo, formerly of the band Matanza, is a talented artist from Chile who brings the heat from his home country with the enchanting style that has previously featured on Sol Selectas alongside the likes of Underyourskin Records and Nazca.

Sam Shure is a name that many will recognise from labels such as Stil Vor Talent and Katermukke. Based in Berlin, he has an epic style of melodic house that is both innovative and eccentric.

The opening cut “Miombo” refers to the woodlands covering several portions of the South-Central African Plateau. Enchanting vocals are also presented and as breathtakingly beautiful as those forests.

Sam Shure makes his Sol Selectas debut with this remix of “Miombo” that switches focus from the melodies and instead focuses on the percussive elements. Blissed out and full of charisma, the rhythms intermingle accompanied with soaring, ethereal synths.

Track three “Massawa” is named after a port city along the shores of Eritrea and features the amazing vocals of Faytinga who is an artist from the region. The deep house chords marry perfectly with her emotional vocals, and the track transports you to a perfect sunset on the African coast.

Closing out the release is Rodrigo Gallardo’s remix of Massawa and he brings an exquisite finish to this enchanting release. Working in some acid jazz, he drops the tempo and adds in his own melody lines along with some free-flowing percussion that lifts the energy of the groove.

The artwork by Helia Jamali is a union of the lush African nature and the cultural creativity of its beautiful people.

Broken Heart, an updated and powerful Afro-House reimagining of Barry Sakharof’s beloved classic “Lev Shalem,” which first became a hit on his 1998 album Negiot. Producer and original composer Laroz, who collaborated with the unique ensemble Kadmon, returns to the song with a desire to explore it from a different angle, infusing it with contemporary colors and musical influences. For this version, Sakharof’s vocal part was re-recorded and the entire production built around a deep, rhythmic, tribal Afro-House direction. Kadmon’s fusion of ancient tribal sounds and modern club-culture beats, born of curiosity and mutual appreciation, brings youthful energy to the track. More than just a new arrangement, Broken Heart is a heartfelt re-exploration of a song imprinted in our cultural memory, enveloping deep emotion and vibrant groove to unite past and present on the dancefloor.

Diynamic Music returns with the 14th edition of its prime Various Artist EP series Four To The Floor. These EPs are always comprised of four dancefloor-oriented tracks that have one special quality in common: they have all been heavily road tested and certified by label boss Solomun on his countless gigs all over the world. 

Opening the release is South African artist Bruce Loko together with Sebee and their track Dimensions, a light-hearted and uplifting summertime anthem that surrounds you like a warm breeze at the ocean. Larozs Under Your Skin follows up with a deeper and sultrier vibe its thick bassline and muffled brass synths garnish the catchy vocal. 

Up next is Super Flus Acumulee, a melodic House track that captivates with its deeply layered composition and compelling groove, followed by the highly emotive ethno tune Tribe by Matt Sawyer.

Laroz's genuine passion for African music inspired this EP, which is a fusion of traditional ethnic rhythms and organic house beats. “Miombo” refers to the woodlands which cover several portions of the South-Central African Plateau, and the enchanting vocals naturally combine with the raw electronic groove. 'Laganga' features the amazing vocals of Faytinga, an Eritrean artist. The deep house chords marry perfectly with her emotional vocals, and we can feel the passion of both artists transmitted through the song. For the remix of “Miombo”, we welcome Sam Shure from Berlin for his first time on the label. Sam delivers a peak-time afro tech gem, focusing his sites on the tribal drums, creating a mind-blowing rendition complete with a breakdown which is pure psychedelic madness. On “Laganga”, we invited our dear friend Rodrigo Gallardo (formerly of Matanza) from Chile, to remix this heart-opening tune. Rodrigo delivers a gorgeous downtempo interpretation, skilfully finessing the vocals of Faytinga, adding a live marimba groove, and as well some subtle modular effects. His remix maintains all the emotion and beauty of the original, and rounds out the release package nicely with a soothing alternative for listeners to enjoy. The artwork by Helia Jamali is a union of the lush African nature and the cultural creativity of its beautiful people.
