On this special day, as I reflect on the past 730 days, I am overwhelmed with a mix of emotions and memories that have shaped the creation of my jazzy jersey club hip-hop fusion. This musical journey is not just a composition; it's a heartfelt tribute inspired by the indomitable spirits of my granddad and my sister, who have kept the cherished memories of our shared moments alive.

The inception of this musical endeavor takes me back to the days when the smooth waves of WNUA 95.5 carried the timeless tunes of classic and contemporary jazz into our hearts. I remember those moments vividly, getting lost in the soulful melodies and feeling a connection that transcended time.

I recall expressing my dreams to you, sharing my aspirations of creating my own songs that would resonate with others, much like the way we listened to the legendary John Coltrane on the radio. Little did I know that this dream would evolve into a tribute to those who have left an everlasting imprint on my soul.

Today, on what would have been my granddad's birthday, I dedicate this musical piece to him with all the love in my heart. I imagine him dancing to the rhythm in a realm beyond ours, and I can't help but feel a sense of joy and nostalgia. Happy birthday, gramps.
