I recorded this after writing it in my head and singing it to myself while working doing animal rescue/care at various shelters over a span of several years. With thanks to the human friends mentioned below for helping the song become real, thanks to the activists & rescuers who give hope to the animals (and all of us) everyday. Animal Anthem

A home demo. I wrote this after the huge global march and day of action following the announcement that the United States intended to go to war with Iraq. That day of marches and demonstrations was February 15th, 2003. I decided to upload this after the Women's March (January 21st, 2017) in honor of the spirit that keeps making everyone go out and raise their voices together.  
Recorded at home in my living room with instruments I had on hand, scratchy tired voice, but in awe of everybody.
