In the 2018 year, the DJs collective/platform Global Funk based in the Basque Country celebrates the 10 year anniversary. During this period they've been organizing multiple events: parties with international and local guest DJs, such as Alice Russell & TM Juke, Nickodemus, Captain Planet, Tahira, Dusty, Txarly Brown, Jesús Bombín,... to name a few, collaborations with some festivals, shows and tours across Europe,... To celebrate this first decade, DJ Makala, the man behind since the beggining, has made a compilation with 20 tracks, describing the trajectory of Global Funk with differents songs, remixes, re-edits, re-works,... produced by themselves, which has been a kind of soundtrack of the collective during whole this first decade. Let's Dance in Baskenland!


En el año 2018, la plataforma/colectivo de DJs Global Funk con sede en el Pais Vasco cumple 10 años de andadura. En todo este tiempo han venido organizando multiples eventos, como fiestas con DJs invitados locales e internacionales tales como Alice Russell & TM Juke, Nickodemus, Captain Planet, Tahira, Dusty, Txarly Brown, Jesús Bombín,... por citar algunos, colaboraciones con festivales, actuaciones y tours por Europa. In the year 1997, Nickodemus & Jay B met through friend & music fanatic Eddy Plenty. At the time, Nickodemus was DJ'ing at Organic Grooves & Giant Step parties & experimenting with sampling from his record collection from around the World. Jay B was writing music & experimenting with the latest in computer programming software. Their shared love for fat beats of soul, funk, trip hop, jazz from around the World was the common ground that made for a quick music making synergy. In the 1st year working together, they managed to make the following songs as well as a few remixes & unreleased beats that never made it off of the DAT recorder. We hope you enjoy these songs from the Brooklyn Beat Cave in 1997.

Far off in the brush of the West Africa there lives a tribe of people that have stirred up a lot of interest in their mythology. The Dogon, from Mali, have some interesting beliefs, elaborate rituals and myths. They believe that they are descended from ancient Egyptians and their story goes back further than 50,000 years. Their stories contain actual facts about the solar system and ancient history. The Dogon tribe believes that the starting point of creation is a star that revolves around Sirius and is known as the 'Digitaria star'. Their understanding is that this star is small, but heavy, and contains the building elements of creation. So, here are some building elements of their music creation. This is our new compilation and is called "The Dogon Orchestra", full of positive vibes and awesome music. This is our world and you're welcome to it..

Lemurian is an artist of evolution. He receives messages from crystals, which make him acknowledge that it's not only about the present, but about how we can leave this Earth a better place for future generations. He uses music as a tool to open minds connecting people through feeling high frequencies of love, leaving everyone feeling inspired so that they can develop and advance in any undertaking of their lives.
Lemurian is part of the new movement called “Spiritual Electronic,” which promotes a responsible music environment. His performances are held as “ceremonies" for the spiritually awakened crowd mostly under the sun always consciously setting an intention.

"It was a beautiful summer day, the young couple enjoying their lazy trip along the coastline in their convertible. This was surely the most beautiful day of their vacation, as they rolled through the lush green landscape, savoring the scent of all these flowers. They stopped occasionally to enjoy each other’s company, sucking up the breathtaking landscapes or sipping from sizzling champagne, looking forward to yet another lazy day and sparkling night. They both had the feeling that this was for real, that they finally found their soul mate.
They drove into the hills, following a winding road over a mountain pass. The landscape was still beautiful on the other side of the mountains, but the greenery was gone and it was just a desert. As they drove through this desolate landscape, the mood changed. A sense of loneliness descended upon them. They started to doubt… what would happen if their car broke down? Would they be able to make it to the other side, where the mountains looked even more beautiful, but still so far away? Then a red warning light started to flash on the dashboard and all of a sudden the engine stalled. The car came tantalizingly slowly to a halt and the young couple looked anxiously at each other… Would this be the end? They had no idea what kind of test was waiting for them…"
