Ryan Rukavina recorded a track to demo a lap-steel he'd built. Sent it to me. I added some 12-String and some other sounds and mixed it down on a January day in East Missoula while law enforcement hunted down a Federal Fugitive in the neighborhood. The crook had been described as an absconder, hence the title.

Afternoon work. iPhone (Voice Memos) on table in room recording. 16 minute first take improvisation, of which I took around 6 minutes I liked, duplicated and added a second track of it, offset by .05 seconds, to make it stereo. Faded in and out to make it smooth. All sounds are what I played live. Signal path: Taylor 710CE "acoustic" guitar, LR Baggs Venue DI preamp, Mooer Yellow compressor, Voodoo Labs Sparkle Drive Mod, Ibanez Orange Phase Shifter from the 80s, Boss DD6, Boss RV6, TC Ditto X4 Looper, JBL EON G2. Not all effects are present on all parts.

Grave For Sale

Lego Hundy is(?) was a project of Sean Burress and I. I wrote and recorded this instrumental thing, and Sean added the beats and the amazing synth part on the bridge. I brought the track to Clark Grant at House of Watts' studio in Butte, and he got Patrick to play sax on the track. I edited the whole thing together, and Sean remixed it and mastered it. Recording was in 2017 maybe? So. Many. Songs. floating about. We love this one. It's not like any of the others.

Some old friends posted an older photo of themselves at their happiest in Sedona, AZ. Another old friend saw the photo and thought it was present-day, and exclaimed excitedly "Are you back in Sedona!!!?" Her enthusiasm was infectious, and i wrote the song.
