Germans - Wonderhow(Medsound Remix)

Some 18 months on from the release of his acclaimed Exit Strategies 12”, Jonny Nash returns with Eden, a mini-album recorded in Bali and the United Kingdom throughout 2016. While many of his aural trademarks are present - think glistening guitars, drifting synthesizer chords and subtle piano motifs - Eden feels a little different: humid, dense and decidely "murkier" than previous outings. Check, for example, the gently pulsing rhythms, layered vocal samples and hazy ambient house era textures of "Maroon Crisp", or the sparkling melodies, chiming percussion and bubbly drum machine matters of "Ding Repair"; both tracks are as beautiful and life-affirming as you'd expect, but feel far more widescreen in vision. Eden is full of these kind of moments. There's the undulating mysticism of "Conversations With Mike", the delay-laden, outer-space ambience of "Down At Babakan", and the crystal clear brilliance of closer "Lime".

He Is The Voice I Hear’ is my first all new work since “Lady Of Sorrows.” It’s been a long journey from there to here. I’m so thrilled to continue the story and finally realize my dream of bringing together an ensemble of live musicians.

This record was a joy to create with my engineering and production partner, Rupert Murray, Davide Rossi on strings and Christoforo LaBarbera on keys. The vinyl was mastered and cut by Tim Xavier for Manmade Mastering.  We’ve also put some special touches into the design of the record itself. 

Incredible thanks to Adam Rowe, Andrew Gordon, Jake Nelson and everyone that helped make this record possible at all.

Alexis Taylor announces Listen With(out) Piano, a companion album to his 2016 record Piano. Released March 3rd 2017 via Moshi Moshi, Listen With(out) Piano features new versions by artists including Papa M (David Pajo), Green Gartside (Scritti Politti), Spring Heel Jack, Beatrice Dillon, Brian DeGraw (Gang Gang Dance), which can be played on their own, or at the same time as the songs on Piano, to create a brand new listening experience. 

The album features the work of eleven of Alexis’s favourite musicians, handpicked to create new tracks designed to work in response to the songs on Piano, the third solo album by the Hot Chip frontman. Though the record can be synched with the original Piano recordings by playing both albums on two devices simultaneously, the tracks on Listen With(out) Piano can be also be enjoyed as original songs on their own merits.
