In the space of just four years and little over 20 releases, Hamburg’s JEUDI Records has established itself as one of the foremost imprints in the world of melodic deep and tech house music. Born from the weekly club night of the same name taking place at their hometown venue Baalsaal (on the infamous Reeperbahn), it’s a label which focuses on quality over quantity, and has showcased music from the likes of Doctor Dru, Adana Twins, Turntablerocker, Sidney Charles and Monte in its short but acclaimed history. Pushing the new breed alongside a smattering of established dons, their riff-fuelled, synth-heavy sounds are encapsulated in their monthly Sceen.fm radio show - and now for the first time in a smoking hot compilation.

House Of Disco are back in full swing after a short hiatus, building on their pedigree that has brought the world music from the likes of Finnebassen, EJECA and Volta Cab over the past two years. With an increasingly busy global DJ schedule, their own parties in London and their own guest mix series bolstering their consistent online curation, they have amassed a sizable, fervent following.

House Of Jeudi makes for a seriously moreish listen, full to the brim of incredibly consistent and charismatic dancefloor delights - with each label picking six tracks. JEUDI’s selection takes us from the moody Reese basslines of Danito & Athina’s Harmony Baby, to Sean Roman’s contemplative I Find Myself and the spooky depths of Camelphat’s 360, while House Of Disco journey through the skippy funk of Roberto Rodriguez’s North Step, HNNY’s delicate Oma Doris, and the slinky disco of LeSale’s Fit Trucker.

Suited just as well to the home stereo as to the dancefloor, it’s an engrossing compilation that’s got plenty to offer for DJs and casual listeners alike, and looks set to cement both labels incredibly solid reps even further.

2014 was a big year for Scott Moncrieff AKA thatmanmonkz. Not only did his own label Shadeleaf become firmly established he dropped brilliantly received releases on both Kolour LTD and here on D.O.G.
Scott has managed to tread that fine line of simultaneously picking up props from all angles and wrecking dancefloors the world over whilst remaining resolutely underground and focused on the more interesting corners of dance music. RA rightly stated that ‘Despite the pivotal part his hometown has played in electronic music history, you can't shake the feeling that if this were the work of some auteur from Detroit, Thatmanmonkz would receive wider recognition from the house community.’ And that is why we love him!
Here on his follow up to last years Don’t Slip EP, he delivers 3 lo-fi, dusty, soul- tinged nuggets which have that unique yet instantly identifiable character only the most talented producers are capable of making. Opener In The Trees featuring the vocals of Kahill Anthony who adds a soulful touch to the raw, bumping groove set up by monkz. The kind of magic track that’ll get lodged in your mind and have the heads clamoring for the info when dropped on a big system. Flip over for Make It Now which treads a more familiar loopy disco path but does so in such fine style that you’ll be coming back to this one time and time again. Finally we have Sad n Blue which drops the deepness with fizzing Detroit padz and killer vox samples giving a nod to the moody one but with a throbbing bassline straight out of the nu school. thatmanmonkz is currently holed up in his studio making tracks for his debut LP which we’re happy to announce will be dropping towards the end of this year here on Delusions.

Following a stunning (and sell-out !) EP earlier last year, the North East's answer to Michigan's finest, steps up again, with probably his strongest work to date. Mannmademusic became known very quickly, over the space of a few low key, but expertly realised edits releases for the likes of Glenview, Lumberjacks In Hell & Diner City Sounds. This EP sees him continue wearing his influences proudly, but re-imagine them in an altogether rawer framework - Samples woven together, augmented and redefined, some of it following the classic KDJ blueprint but laid out in a style that's all his own. Those familiar loops submerged and unfurling, rubbing up against altogether more off-kilter but coherent workouts, sat alongside perfectly measured electronic jams all combining into an EP that stands head and shoulders above the competition. Inspired from a friend that dedicated this song to his girlfriend, we decided to do this re-edit from the track written by David Paich, released on Toto's self-titled debut album in 1978. After adding new drum layers, fills and a new groove to the original, our Vintage People version turns into a 104 bpm r&b disco ballad.

The kid called KAPOTE is our new favorite man on the Toy Tonics camp.. :)
Coming up with his first own EP. Including a dancefloorfunk remix by his Berlin mates from SESSION VICTIM.

Kapote is doing house music, but influenced by rare Funk and Soul music. Or better said: by the mid 1990ies wave of filter house and the French touch. He likes the black American scene around Paul Johnson or the tracks on Detroit's Red Planet label (The Martian!!). But also French people like la Funk Mob, Gilbert, The early Super Discount stuff.. The days when it was all about finding the ultra rare, but ultra effective samples and  using it in a clever and very musical way. Creating a new groove, something that flows with a big bunch of Soul.
Kapote does this... and he has the old vinyls and he has the right machines to make them swing in a new way. Check out Kapote.
