Ætsende Sjæl (Corrosive Soul) is the 3´rd official release from Lars Kivig and his experimental electro-acoustic endeavor, Skambidt. Presenting a nonlinear, wide and deep array of audio soundscapes that blends dark ambient, sound art and a profound omnipresent foundation of instability, insecurity in the space between life and death. 

Ætsende Sjæl is handcrafted by Lars Kivig using Eurorack modular synthesizers and features several prominent guest artists. Kristof Hahn (Swans) on Lap Steel Guitar, Thomas Wydler (The Bad Seeds) on drums and percussion, Meagan Palmer (The Dream Lovers) on vocals, John Contreras (Current 93) on cello. Last but not least, Lasse Vistisen (Doula) on synth bass. 

Skambidt (Danish for “Savaged”) was founded in 2018 by Lars Kivig who has been a highly active figure in the Copenhagen underground scene since 1997. Kivig is the synth-man and 26 year member of the Danish, instrumental music-noir band, My Beloved. Kivig is also the founder of the experimental, Acorn Falling that includes collaborations with amongst others, The Bad Seeds, Thomas Wydler and Tuxedomoon’s Peter Principal. In 2011, Kivig performed live with Acorn Falling at Roskilde Festival and the same year performed live with Joe Budenholtzer’s Backworld at WGT in Leipzig.

Lars Kivig is a Danish musician, composer and producer. He is the founder of Vicious Studio & Records, Acorn Falling, ModuLARS, SKAMBIDT and Electrovert. Kivig is also a composer and member of MY BELOVED since 1997.
