The Peronists is an Argentinian DJ & producer who was one of the names at the forefront of Latin American global/tropical bass movement back in the 2000s which was strongly marked by his presence on the first compilations curated by the influential ZZK Records. Now he's coming back with the 'Migración Inka' EP (out July 3rd via Folcore Records) that will include a track called 'Selvático' which perfectly balances between cumbia and reggaeton and features the voice of ever-amazing Morita Vargas whose previous vocal collaborations with the likes of EL PLVYBXY and Pedro Canoeiro were truly outstanding.

Babani Soundsystem is a Mauritius-based band that blends the traditional Indian Ocean rhythms and new electronic influences. On stage, this collective of DJs, musicians and producers performs an audio-visual ceremony, delivering a unique rendition of its island’s groove. Following the release of its hauntingly meditative debut single Zistwar fer per (2019), Babani Soundsystem is back with a remix EP with reworks by Alma Negra feat. Celine Hubert, KR∆UT, and Sunken Cages.
Stories, rituals and incantation, Babani inspires local and regional artists to give life to each release. Initially conceptualised by Mauritian illustrator, Guimero, the artwork revives the boogieman and is reinterpreted by Reunion Island’s artists duo, Kid Kréol and Boogie for this remix pack.
Basel-based twins Dersu and Diego Figueira have been spinning funk, house, disco and boogie across Europe since their teens and have converge together as Alma Negra. Coming from a musical family with strong Cape Verde roots, they soon embraced the Latin and African rhythms that are at the heart of the music they love. The Basel producers’ have gained support from the likes of Daphni, Ben UFO, Four Tet, Hunee and Antal and guest regularly at Gilles Petersons Worldwide FM. Alma Negra’s distinct drive, rhythmic sensibilities and unique percussive sound has molded Zistwar fer per into a narrative with fantastical imagery. Lending her feminine vocals on the remix, Céline Huber jumps on the track and adds an ethereal feel to the piece. The mix is captivating, gentle, and intricately soothing – with live strings, horns, and piano complementing and completing the dance. Governed by the island’s traditional instrument, the Ravanne, one might scratch their head as to the genre Babani Soundsystem is – but what you might find is a spiritual recognition of sound rather than an easy pigeonholing of music. Along with these interpretations of like-minded producers, you might further discover an inner calling and power with each sway of the music. Listen and let the rhythm speak for itself.

Carla Valenti se une a Pirotecnia con Gladys, su más reciente single. El sencillo nos lleva hasta lo profundo de un Chile que se quiere levantar, que busca incansablemente su libertad. El track cuenta con grabaciones de la política chilena Gladys Marín (1941-2005), sumadas a sonidos que logran encontrar su lugar creando un track profundamente respetuoso, reflexivo y melódico. Sin duda es un track potente, con un mensaje que se suma al de las calles, al de los corazones que buscan justicia y al de un país que despertó. 


GLADYS es el lanzamiento número 45 de Pirotecnia. El arte de la portada estuvo a cargo de la artista Manu Ela.


Biografia Carla Valenti:

Folclorista desde pequeña, la chilena Carla Valenti conectó el mundo de la música electrónica con sus raíces y aspiraciones de manera instintiva, natural y plácida. Hace casi una década inició su carrera como DJ, primero tocando estilos diversos y poco a poco descubriendo la música electrónica, al mismo tiempo que exploraba ciclos melódicos y percusivos, tonos de matices, desde el reggae hasta el hardcore metal. Cuando se graduó en tecnología de sonido, comenzó a conocer el mundo de las máquinas, audio y la música en vivo. La producción musical cada vez más se convirtió en su gran interés y necesidad. Después de cinco años investigando, estudiando y escuchando, no hubo marcha atrás, y comenzó a crear sus propios significados y difuminar la línea entre ser DJ y compositora.

El disco debut de @eezzmmeerraallddaa  es una exploración espectral de las visiones del inconsciente


Luego de sepultar a su banda de cumbia gótica La MiniTK del Miedo hace 4 años y de caer en una profunda crisis personal y creativa, el colombiano Nicolás Vallejo se dedicó a buscar visiones para salir del silencio. Poco a poco, en medio de largas noches de experimentación con máquinas y efectos empezaron a revelarse los fantasmas del sonido que darían forma a Ezmeralda​, su nuevo proyecto.

Producido entre Bogotá y los farallones de Sutatausa, en un estudio improvisado en una pequeña cabaña en medio del aislamiento, su disco debut es una selección de ensoñaciones: imágenes que, de la nada (y hacia la nada, también), se nacen y disuelven en la mente.
  
Peregrinaciones al sol, marchas oscuras de espíritus cumbieros, estados de éxtasis místico alcanzados a través de meditaciones de YouTube, ascensos al cielo de leyendas vallenatas, arcoiris coronando cascadas infinitas en el medio de la selva, noches de tormenta en la Bogotá más melancólica, pueblos tropicales tragados por el tiempo... el álbum es una secuencia de imaginaciones rebajadas una y otra vez, coloreadas por sintetizadores y reverberaciones y ​delays​, y luego pasadas por las máquinas de cinta de su buen amigo Daniel Lofredo Rota –aka ​Quixosis​–, quien les dio un acabado espectral y en estéreo, apenas para escuchar entre dormidos y despiertos.
