In the heart of Southwest Philadelphia, where survival often outshines dreams, a voice was born—gritty, soulful, and destined to be heard.

Desmond LaShawn Bryant, known to the world as Lashawn Creed, entered this world on September 18th, 1986—a product of the block, but never confined by it. The soundtrack of his childhood wasn’t lullabies—it was sirens, street wisdom, and the soulful boom-bap of hip hop legends.

At just nine years old, Lashawn’s journey began with a single moment—his sister playing "Scenario" by A Tribe Called Quest. That track didn’t just move him. It ignited him. Hours spent rewinding tapes, memorizing every verse, every cadence. He wasn’t just listening—he was studying, absorbing the craft like gospel. From Biggie’s flow to Tupac’s pain to Fabolous’s style—Lashawn didn’t just hear hip hop. He became it.

By 13, he wasn’t just another kid on the block—he was the soundtrack of it. Making and selling instrumentals, dominating rap battles, and teaming up with his cousin Steven Overton to form Nixx and Dymez, a duo making waves across Philly. The name Dymez stuck, and for years, it echoed through the city’s underground scene.

At 19, lightning struck. His single "Yung Stunna" exploded across the streets, followed by the anthem "Pose 4 Da Camera." For a moment, he had it all—buzz, recognition, momentum. But life doesn’t ask permission to change the beat.

At 21, the game paused. His daughter, Kyeco, was born—and music took a back seat. But fatherhood didn’t dull the fire. It refined it.

Four years later, he returned with a vengeance. His mixtape, "A.D.D (Attention Deficit Disorder)," became a statement piece, featuring "Dunkin On Em" and the sleeper hit "Ice Cream Paint Job"—which sold over 10,000 copies independently.

But it was time for reinvention.

He shed Dymez and stepped into the name that would define him—Lashawn Creed. A name built from legacy. LaShawn from his birth. Creed—a nickname from his late cousin Black, who once joked he had the heart of Apollo Creed. When Black passed, Lashawn made that name his armor—his way of keeping him alive.

He hit the road, performing across the East Coast, and was this close to a major record deal—until his body gave out. A diagnosis of Severe Peptic Ulcer Disease nearly silenced him. Doctors said stop. But music said otherwise.

In 2015, against all odds, he stepped back on stage. The performance was electric. The message was clear—Lashawn Creed was back.

From 2016 to 2018, he didn’t just perform—he dominated. From local shows to the legendary Team Backpack Mission Underground in Brooklyn, his lyrics reached further, his voice grew louder.

Then, heartbreak struck again. His father, Robert Coleman, passed suddenly from a stroke. Grief returned—but so did resilience. His father had always said, "Chase your dreams, no matter what." So he did.

He performed at Power 99’s Philly VS Everybody, dropped bangers like “Honest to God,” “Hate It or Love It,” and in 2019, he dropped “Walk Em Down”—a certified club hit.

Through the pandemic, Creed didn’t slow down. From “Throw It” to “I’m Da Man,” to the viral anthem “Big Dog,” his catalog grew, his fanbase surged.

In 2022, he dropped “Woof”—his breakout track, now charting across streaming platforms and proving what Philly always knew:
