Born in New Zealand, the duo of kiwis composed of Sean Whittaker and Louis Anderson-Rich is now based in London. Having formed a bond and desire to produce after attending drum & bass parties in the early 10's, the pair flipped onto the sounds of disco, house and the rising tide of the Melbourne scene across the ditch. Their first single 'Next Dance' for A Label Called Success was well received and led to a relocation to London in 2016. Shortly after they were introduced to Seb Wildblood through a mutual friend which resulted in their debut 'Dippin & Trippin' EP with Coastal Haze - a simple house record founded in easygoing vibes and deep grooves. 

A few months later and the duo had their sophomore release on London upstarts Childplay. Digging about in their harddrives uncovered a boogie and house EP full of sun-soaked jams heavily influenced by PPU's funk-laced output. Title track 'Birds Of Paradiso' eventually piqued the interest of Jungle who included the track on their 'Back To Mine' compilation. 

Then, despite a fateful festival meeting with Aussie icon CC:DISCO that spawned the track 'Dream Sequence' for her First Light compilation, the duo went quiet for two-and-a-half years. But having copped a Korg M1 and developed a taste for Italo house in that period, Manuel Darquart linked up with Dutch label Infinite Pleasure to release the four-tracker 'Adriatic' EP.

Last year, they also made their debut on Wolf Music and are now back with a 10' featuring a couple of nice reworks of the track 'Keep It Dxy' by italian legend Don Carlos and Manny D !

Unfortunately Red Greg was not able to come down to Leiden for our last event at Wibar, in Leiden. But we couldn't be more happier with what local disco/house legend Marcel Vogel did for us that sweaty funky night in June. What a great set!! Marcel opened up the night and warmed up the club for our resident dj's O;Riordan.

You’ve arrived at the Rocksteady Disco night at Milagrosa Mezcaleria. Next thing you know you’re making out.”

Italo wonderkid dropped by the Paradise Palms DJ booth & hit record on an amazing 3 hours of synth friendly classics for our patrons. Music ranges from a sneaky Bobby O medley, to a secret Kylie track as well as some Italo Disco classics. The mic was left on to pick up some of the ambient noise, so you can hear people reacting to some of the songs.

Steve Cobby is a producer, musician and DJ from Hull, UK. His first commercial outing was with Ashley & Jackson, a short-lived project signed to Big Life records in 1988. When they were dropped, he co-founded Pork Recordings and Fila Brazillia in 1990. Fila released 12 critically acclaimed LPs as well as produced over 70 remixes for artists as diverse as Radiohead, Busta Rhymes, Black Uhuru, Simple Minds, James, A Certain Ratio and Moloko. 

His first paid DJ set was in 1985. He has since gone on to play all four corners of the globe from Sydney to San Francisco, New York to Tokyo as well as performing live in Europe, Japan, and the US with Fila. With David Brennand he established the iconic label Pork Recordings in 1990. An imprint that went on to become internationally acclaimed for its quality and integrity. The acclaimed compilation series "Another Late Night" was kickstarted by Fila’s mix in 2000. They also co-produced "Afghan Whigs", Greg Dulli's debut Twilight Singers LP and co-wrote with seminal US composer Harold Budd and UK legend Bill Nelson for the Three White Roses collaboration. 

Steve's other projects include Heights Of Abraham, JSTARS, The Cutler, Hey Rube, Chieftain and Citrus with Richard H Kirk. He now releases all solo work on his own Déclassé imprint. His solo LP "Saudade" garnered considerable critical acclaim, selling its limited-edition-run in spring 2014. The follow-up "Everliving" was named in Piccadilly Records' top 100 LPs of the year in 2015. The third solo outing "Hemidemisemiquaver" received similar glowing praise.

Zeds Dead have just released their brand new 5 song "Hot Sauce" EP via Diplo’s Mad Decent.The follow-up to last year’s Mad Decent EP, Victor, features 5 instrumental tracks that find the duo exploring more sonic territory with their music, further proving that they are one of the most versatile electronic groups around. From the opener, “Demons”, a nightmare inducing track with heavy, pulsating synths as well as keys and strings plucked straight from classic horror films to “Mr. Sub”, which displays a more minimalist approach from the duo with a bouncing bass and touches of space-disco synths and “Rave” a breakbeat monster that hits so fast they put in an audible breaths to remind listeners to take one themselves. This no hold barred approach to electronic music has posed Zeds Dead as one to keepan eye on in the year ahead.
