I saw a dream where I was playing this song with guitar. The name comes from that and from the composition... The song plays around on two notes on E and D. Those chords change minors, majors and diminished chords. When the chords changes, improviser can use different scales and the mood in the song changes.

I think that in the end, where chords goes in to sus2 and sus4 turns the improvisation more abstract. Melodies without "meaning". The listener can't grap on anything and then everything fades out like a dream.

Roberts Twist is an experimental song. Most of the song melodies, harmonies are in dim scales. Dim scale makes a dark feeling for the song. Also the scale has a kind of Arabic feeling also.

Robert's Twist

First part (0-7 minutes) of the "Man of the mountain" is jamming with phyrgian dominant, phyrgian scale and Persian scale what creates eastern and spanish kind of melodies. 

The second part is more experimental and has lot of ambient sceneries and it ends with a long jam guitar solo. Second part of the song has it roots in Persian scale. The exotic scale has a lot of similarities with altered scale and the second mode of the scale can be put in to a kind of fusion style pentatonic minor with guitar easily. With Persian scale the harmonies can be based in to sus chords which creates long and spacey chord progressions.

Man Of The Mountain

Song is a compilation but also one long trip with different kind of chord and bass progressions with byzantium scale. For me this was the most hardest scale to improvise what I have yet tried during my trip with exotic scales. It is a scale what has huge tension all the time but it also has maj7 chords inside which are kind of home bases for improviser.
