After leaving some space for our Vapordub shoots to bloom peacefully throughout March and April, our guestmix series is back with OKO DJ alias Marine Tordjemann. Living in Athens, coming from Paris, the hyperactive artist is part and/or has been at the initiative of many influent projects over the past years. To name a few of them only: Brothers From Different Mothers, LYL Radio, Bruits de La Passion… No more name dropping as OKO DJ definitely carved herself a deserved place in the current international musical landscape.
However, we’d like to highlight (even if not much needed) two very personal projects of her own: The Pu$$y Nightmare party and radio show, to promote women and spirituality in the cultural and music scene, but also the inspiring music she’s been composing since 2020 and especially her ‘Dans les Lunes’ EP on Futur 2010.

Through this 76-minute recording, Marine offers an ad-lib flow of her mind-set back then: happiness, calmness, frustration, research, anxiety, doubt, love, and beauty. Thanks to her moving gathering of cherished, intimate gems, learn to free yourself both from past disillusions and overwhelming expectations.
Now, carry the precious seed with you. Feel its roots slowly spreading through your veins, to eventually reach your heart. Share the word, ask others: ‘How does your present moment feel like?’.

Her obscure-exotic dj-sets are often based on underground (dance) music and will take you on a sonic journey. She’s spinning her records in Berlin’s subculture spots and elsewhere in Germany and Europe.

As musician she combines electric guitar with loops and effects and creates a smooth, nearly cineastic atmosphere.
Alexa D!saster is resident at Mutant Radio and has a monthly show called D'SASTER MOMENTS.

She likes the expression of being a holistic dj.

Lots of artist like to think they have their own singular sound, but not many are as hard to categorise as Lutto Lento. The Polish artist cooks up intoxicating brews of churning drums, weird samples, lithe synths, jumbled percussion and plenty more. Is is dancehall? Is it techno? Is it ambient? Who knows, but it’s beautiful in its abstraction and makes for some of the most compelling sound collages you are likely to hear. 

As a DJ he has an approach to sound that is just as eclectic and magpie. This mix one starts off with warped, twisted synths that sound stripped from the UK hardcore continuum, before growing into big, tumbling drums. A flurry of dancehall, broken rhythms, raved up Indian bass all follow and leave you in awe of the man’s ability to thread to tether so much different stuff with such a strong sense of cohesion. Truly, he is one of a kind.

Radio Cómeme Mix by DJ Rasputin

Philipp Otterbach’s psychedelic music never been a sunshine pleasure pill. But yet, the souls of his notes are deeply gentle. With “Everything Else Matters” the Berlin based DJ and producer now introduces his debut album, that follows a long introduction. 
Already since a while he devotes himself with endurance to music. He was an early resident at Düsseldorf’s shrine for outernational grooves Salon Des Amateurs. Since 2014 he releases music under his given name or as Grand Optimist on labels like Grokenberger Records, Knekelhuis or Themes For Great Cities and leaves marks as a remixer for artists like DJ Normal 4, Brainwaltzera, Wolf Müller and Niklas Wandt on labels like Growing Bin Records or Second Circle. His long DJ nights and already released music prefigures the spirits, that he now bunched on his first album. It’s a record, that does not want to pursue a straight categorization. It rather aims to spellbound with an atmosphere, that is made for moments in the absence of hysteria. Tribalistic, trip-hopping rhythms, menacing sounds, cold cool vocal passages, drone chants, morbid goth-ambient spheres, Indie rock indications: its many facets meld into some kind of black highway sound for thoughtful night prowlers in a dissociative state of mind. In context all particles achieve delicate sculptural effects that operate like the surprising architecture of a dream. A forward-thinking dream, that bundles something otherworldly, something unspeakable, that lives hauntingly between the sounds, rhythms and suggested melodies.
