A song Lastwind have played live but recorded here with some new vocals. It's a positive song about keeping going, managing and not needing someone who thinks you do. Still thinking about whether I want this and a couple of older songs on the Lone Voice album.

And On And On

This track, Strung Out, was how we opened the LASTWIND set when we toured England supporting HAWKWIND in 2006. We were pretty strung out for the first couple of gigs because, due to OBNY (guitarist of the first order) losing his passport just before setting off to come here from Avignon, France, where he lives, we only got 24 hours for rehearsing  before setting off for the first gig.

I wrote the words of this song about the HAWKWIND tour of the USA I was on in 1978. I've played the song in various forms with several bands. This is a LASTWIND version recorded live at Wulfrun Hall Wolverhampton, October 2006, with a couple of vocal overdubs.

This track was recorded as an instrumental for the limited edition LASTWIND CD called RED STAR BRIGADE in 2008. I'm now looking at whether it should have some vocals and add it into the current set list.

Bottom Up

This is another LASTWIND instrumental which I wrote in 2008 and we rehearsed as a 3 piece for playing at some gigs that were coming up but never actually performed. This recording has been hanging around since then but I intend giving it a bit of a re-fresh and place some short vocals on a couple of passages so it may end up on the album which is almost definitely coming out in March or April 2012. Teacups

One of the last songs chosen for the new Lastwind album (out on FLicknife Records May 28th 2012, available on all main internet sites and your High Street record stores). It's a fast rocker, a bit Hendrix-y, and meant to show off the live sound of the band. It's subject is those ladies who are happiest on the dance floor, dancing for themselves, not the men around them.

This is track 5 off our album RETURN OF A SONIC ASSASSIN. It's about driving down the highway (autoroute) to the South of France, which I used to do a lot, and getting stopped for speeding by a gendarme on a motorbike. He took me off to a cash machine to pay him 90 Euros when I said I had no cash on me.

Which Way When

LASTWIND is back in action. The band, now a 5-piece, has just finished recording a new album, RETURN OF A SONIC ASSASSIN. It is out on FLICKNIFE RECORDS end of May 2012 and the band will be gigging next autumn and winter. Coming to a venue near you.
