This song is about the frustrations and betrayals that artists face in the digital age, particularly with music streaming platforms like SoundCloud. I was recently hit hard when my total play count suddenly dropped by half, with hundreds of plays vanishing from each song seemingly overnight. I've heard about three other artists that have had this happen to them as well.  It was a stark reminder of the lack of control and transparency artists have over their own work. The lyrics highlight the issues of transparency and fairness in counting streams and paying royalties, and how these systems can be manipulated to the detriment of the artists. It's a call to action, demanding justice and fairness for creators, and emphasizing the importance of honesty and integrity in the way our work is valued and compensated. 

This song is a protest against SoundCloud's exploitation of artists and a plea for a more equitable system that respects the value of our work.

Here we are with the second chapter of our crazy apocalyptic trilogy!🌪️⚡️
In the first episode, with the song Everything Changed (But Me) [here: https://soundcloud.com/beatingedge/everything-changed-but-me], we took you into a world where everything had changed: strange purple-lit skies, people running everywhere, many pointing at the sky, but no one really understanding what was going on. And in the end, it all seemed like a dream, even though the view outside the window suggested the madness was actually real.
Now, with this new track called Let's Die Tonight, things take an even crazier and darker turn. Musically, we’ve shifted from Synth Pop to Dance. It's the perfect vibe to describe a wild reality where some kind of life-force vampires are driving people insane, making them feel totally unhinged as multiple celestial bodies head straight for Earth.
We strongly recommend watching the video and sticking around until the very end. After the song, our great friend and amazing artist Carl (The Beautiful Dark - https://soundcloud.com/thebeautifuldark) shows up on screen to reveal some behind-the-scenes details and hint at where the story is headed next. So I had an instrumental track called 'The Mural' I said I would put some vocals to.  Without re-arranging the track too much this is what I came up with.  This is no longer a song about a Mural.  I went dark instead!  I cannot remove the hissing from the Guitar Tracks... despite my best efforts.  Hopefully the rest will make up for it!

2. The High Priestess

Thank you so much for visiting and listening.
I’m a full-time engineer, but I’ve been making music for 40-plus years. I studied jazz drums and Spanish guitar, and now I make music as both producer and guitar player.

I love instrumental rock and hip-hop and electronic music — especially when they start to overlap. To me, music should share electricity, and have a dynamic, stratified blend of styles.

I use Ableton DAW, add Moog and Arturia synthesizers, play guitar, and dive head over heels into the creative process. I really treasure the ancient power of music.

Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Anjunadeep music are some of my main influences.
