At dusk this Black Woodpecker drummed for almost one hour without break but I shortened it to an half-hour. Green Woodpeckers and Great Spotted Woodpeckers can also be heard.

Recorded on a tranquil night on the edge of the Lac de Madine in France, this soundscape captures the deep reverberant calls of a Eurasian Bittern booming. As one of Europe's most endangered bird species, with fewer than 100 breeding pairs remaining in France, this recording offers a rare glimpse into the nocturnal world of these elusive creatures.

Eurasian Bittern - Lac de Madine, Lorraine, France

I fell in love with the call of the Fire-bellied Toads. When there is not a full choir but only a few solists you can hear that each toad sings in a different frequency. This is a short version of the night, starting at 7 PM until 5 AM in the morning. First you only hear four to five Fire-bellied Toads in the evening, at nightfall the constant chorus of European Tree Frog forms the background, then the Tawny Owl sings at midnight, until the Common Redstart starts to sing just before the dawn breaks.

12 hours with Fire-bellied Toads

Immerse yourself in the enchanting soundscape of a French forest at dawn, recorded in the heart of the Foret Dominale du Perche et de la Trappe. The most prominent bird song is that of the Wood Warbler, but we also hear Eurasian Wren, Common Cuckoo, Common Chaffinch, Eurasian Blackbird, European Robin, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Song Thrush, Common Firecrest and Common Wood-Pigeon.

Today 16/12/20 I upgraded my kit and got the Rode NTG5 This is my first use. 

This is a quick test recording of light rain hitting a tarpaulin sheet that covers my bike, on my East Dulwich balcony. You can hear people entering the court through the metal gates as well as the sound of motor vehicles passing on the parallel street.
